No, you don't need a BBX file. You need to change BBX settings, as I outlined above. The tune file should be a CTZ file. You shouldn't need to do anything to it, if it's loaded on the Autocal.
That error code means the BBX settings are incorrect. Install Efilive V8 on your computer, if you haven't already. Connect your Autocal to the computer. Open the F5: BBX tab in Efilive Scan and Tune....
Will Efilive be developing DSP5 upgrades for the E41? Clearly it can be done, as a competitor (who shall remain nameless) has shown. That would really make Efilive the ultimate tool for these trucks....
Finally got to work on the truck again. Ended up being some speed limiters I set wrong. I believe B0603 is for cruise control, if I'm not mistaken. This is how I ended up setting the table

1. No personal experience with Cummins. Duramax tunes I have seen from them were so-so.
2. Yes, you need another VIN license, but no, if the tunes were written for a different truck, you shouldn't...
Sounds like a hardware failure with the Autocal. You could try to flash in passthru mode, if you haven't already.
Thanks. I'll try that.
Recently tuned a "lightweight" LML, and lost cruise control afterward. The truck had an H&S programmer previously, and cruise worked with it. These are the file segments:
Segment...

Good points as well.
I love the fact that Efilive is flexible with other tuning systems with the ability to load BIN files, and CAX add ins. The competition, OTOH, is doing...
There's a lot of LML stuff that isn't in there. But I think that's by design also?
And sometimes V7.5 will load a BIN file where V8 won't. I just like having both and it's nice if the files load...
I'm no longer able to load tune files saved with V8 in V7.5. Is that by design, or will it be fixed?
Your tuner is wrong. HE needs to link the tune files using the "save, for autocal" button at the bottom of the V8 editor screen.
Glad to hear.
Yes, you understood right. The paper clip is a bit of a hack, but SHOULD get the job done.
I should add, when looking for that splice pack, it will likely be taped to another wiring harness. It...
Correct. Ideally you would need terminal pins that match the connector, but if you're careful, you can probably use a paper clip or similar metal object to make the connection at the splice pack....
Try connecting to ONLY the ECM. The is a splice pack for the communication bus under the dash behind the fuse block. See the attached location image. Disconnect the splice bar the connects all the...
Did you by any chance unplug the exhaust temperature sensors? That will trigger the cooling fans. They have to be plugged in or theoretically you could probably fool the ECM with resistors...
Here's one
Yes, everything you want to do is possible, but first you need to unlink your autocal. You can buy an unlink code on efilive's website. Then you can link up to whatever tuner you choose.
Should be one in this collection. https://1drv.ms/f/s!Ao1h6KWrZUzhg7Ig9q_HXr5Pxnxm_A?e=yY8OSx
I would recommend looking at your ECM sticker and matching numbers to be sure the file you use is...
Glad to hear. The tunes they sell are not always ideal in my experience.
It will depend on who you bought your tunes from. If they built the tunes correctly, you'll be fine.
Anyone? I can't be the only person to face this.
I just went back and looked at my logs from my LLY, and I'm seeing the same thing. 80 mm3 max. I never saw that before. :nixweiss: Maybe it's a glitch in Efilive? IDK.
Personally, I'd ignore that...
