Thanks for the info. I just upgraded to V7.5.4 and also updated the firmware from the post: http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=4335 Hopefully these are the correct versions. Do I have to upgrade anything else?

Hi DP,
First use that link to upgrade to V7.5; then upgrade your V2 bootblock to 2.4.72.
Then... get the latest update from www.efilive.com/downloads and install V7.5 and V8.1 on your laptop/PC.
After you install V8.1, there is a readme (attached) file that tells you how to update your V2 firmware/bootblock for BBL...
Read the readme several times and ask questions before going ahead with the V2 firmware/bootblock update procedure...
the V2 firmware/bootblock procedure is easy but has many steps... you can get fouled up if you don't understand the readme.
Cheers,
Joe

Do I have to upgrade to V8.1 to use the serial cable? I only want to log the AFR on my laptop (pass through), not on the black box itself. I have to rebuild my PID's and dahsboard from scratch after I just downloaded the V7.5.4 and I really don't feel like doing it again.
Update: I downloaded V8.1 and also updated the firmware and boot block as well. It connects to my vehicles with no problems. However, when I go to "Select PIDS" on the Flashscan itself I get the following message "options.ini not found". I did copy the config files into the config file tab and hit Format, but still the same message. Did I miss something?
I figured it out. Thanks.
Just did my first BBL! Wow, this is so cool. It will be especially helpful when datalogging at the track. No more laptop in the car. Yes! Thanks again. I'm going to order that cable asap.
DP,
You got it all working, cool...
Yes, serial/digital AFR is so simple and accurate... get the cable (do you have an LC-1...?).
Do you have an SD memory card...?
The SanDisk 2GB card works good, and can be obtained from Amazon for $5 plus $5 shipping...
just look for the OEM/bulk (it contains just 1 unit) package (not the retail package).
I was BBL'ing today and received error 0185 but it still worked okay. Anyway, I'm ready to order the cable.
