Default gm #09359409 is this a valid 2 bar map sensor

I just purchased gm # 09359409. It is supposedly off of a 05 cobalt ss 2.0 supercharged motor. I put it on the my friends boosted car and it seems not to be working correctly. Can any one confirm this is a 2 bar sensor.

Try putting a voltmeter on it and see what she reads key-on, engine-off. If you're close to 5 volts, it's not a 2 bar sensor or possibly defective. If you're well under 5 volts, you should be good. Another trick is to note your MAP reading in the scan tool with your stock sensor, then substitute the new one, again key-on, engine-off. The MAP should be around 53 kPa if the MAP hasn't been scaled yet.

From what I gather in that document is that the sensor the I got is a 1 bar sensor. The funny thing is that I called 4 different dealers and they gave me the same exact number. When I gave them the part # 12580698 they say they can't get it. But it is even funnier if gm put a 1 bar sensor on there new supercharged ecotec motors.

12580698 is for the Saturn Ion Redline. Evidently, there is a problem with the vendor, so GM tanked the P/N for now. My guess is that the Ion will show a different P/N that works the same, if you approach it from that angle. The older, larger sensors will work fine with a harness adapter, if you're fitting it to a newer car.

12580698 is the correct part number. got mine from gmpartsdirect and it works no problem. BTW it is NOT the MAP sensor but rather the BARO sensor, IIRC.
