Fires in southeastern Australia... [Archive]

Does anyone know if we have forum members affected by the wild fires in southeastern Australia...?

Hopefully everyone is ok.

Sorry to hear that Chkmeout08. When the fires were at their worst the weather was awful, it was 46°C (115°F) with very strong winds. Combined with the drought we have had it was always going to be bad. I heard on the news I think they said the fires were spreading at a rate of nearly a mile a minute!
Just as I was typing this we had the "Elvis" air crane fly over - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-64_Skycrane , wow!! I guess it is off to dump more water on the fires.
Unfortunately the death toll is still climbing.
