hey guys, I was doin some tuning on a guys big Z71. He has 4.56 gears and 37" tires..
after we got thru messing with it I kept getting C0238 and I have no way of fixing it..
I can't remember exactly the discription.

i cleared the codes a couple times and they kept coming back..

i cant disable the code with efi live being that its in the EBCM?

Wonder if i can do a recalibration with a Tech II?

ALLDATA says:

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC

Any wheel speed differing from the vehicle speed by greater than 10%.
The vehicle speed is greater than 40 km/h (25 mph)
No unexpected wheel acceleration: anything that generates consistent differences between the wheel speed signals.

So, I'm not sure if the EBCM is comparing left and right front wheel speeds or if it is comparing each wheel speed to vehicle speed... that description given by ALLDATA is a little vague... let me see if I can find a better one.

i just started receiving this code recently which mentions "traction control system (TCS) throttle position sensor comparison" and trans slippage P1870 in which i just upgraded my trans. is there anyway to turn the C0238?

I love bringing back old threads...

I am dealing with this same issue on a 2000 4x4 5.3/4L60e. It has been regeared and I adjusted for that in the tune of course. What I think is happening is the Body control module has some data regarding gear ratio stored in it and it compares that to what the ecm says. So even though the tire size is the same and the front and rear axles have the same gears, the BCM hasn't been reprogrammed, therefore it sees a 10% or greater difference in wheel speed when comparing front to back. Does that sound possible?

Try only changing tire revs vss it is what reports to speedometer needle. Leave trans revs and all else stock.
