1997 Vortec 4.3 - 5.7

I have a 1997 Chev p/u 4x4 with Vortec 4.3, it has almost 200,000 miles and is finally getting tired. I would like to replace it with 5.7. What components would I need to get along with engine? Will original trans (Auto), radiator ect work. Also what year or years of 5.7 shouuld I look for. I am quite capable of doing all the nut and bolt stuff but need help with compatability issues. Any help would be apreciated.

Norm, I don't know about the mechanicals, but the PCM's between the 1997 and 1998- 2000 model was different. So for an easier conversion look for a 1997 model as the donor.

Put the 5.7L in and swap the PCM to a 99+ 0411.
