I bought this mainly for data logging i use Tunercat OBD2 for tuning. This EFI live V2 still has the licenses on the cable never used it to tune i also have to go with it a cable to use in conjunction with a LC1 for wideband data logging i paid 20 bucks for it easy plug and play from TAQuickness. I just purchased this back in dec so only a few months old

It will work, but the WBO2 will be useless to you as you have a Dmax.

why what?

He's asking why a WBO2 (Wide Band Oxygen sensor) is worthless on a Dmax.

This is what Ive gathered, the only diesels that use O2 sensors are ones with a DPF filter (aka LMM only for the Dmax). If Im wrong please let me know, this is just the limited info Ive read and Ive only stared at Dmaxes.

You can still use a WBO2, and the LC-1 has a diesel setting.

SilverChevo,

Welcome to the forum...

The WBO2 (wideband O2 sensor) is used as follows:

- with gasoline motor: to monitor exhaust gas O2 content which indicates actual AFR; when this is compared to commanded AFR various tables (VE/MAF) can be "corrected" which then produces an actual AFR equal to commanded AFR (this allows direct tailoring of the AFR for peak TQ and peak HP, very useful when you have a limited number of runs down the 1/4 mile track).

- with diesel motor: I am not sure (this isn't my area), but I imagine there are similar uses.

I stand corrected, thanks for the info! I dont know why but I was almost positive diesels didnt use O2 sensors! :help2::bangin:

When it says it only has one license left on it does that mean you can only tune one vehicle or that you can only put one tune on the devise?

It means either of the following:
- you can tune 1 PCM,
- you can tune 1 ECM/TCM pair.

The license attaches itself to the PCM/ECM/TCM serial number...

Once attached, you can flash that PCM/ECM/TCM any number of times.

First post states that this is new, all licenses intact.
EFILive does not used the "credits system".
1 license per controller, not per OS or option.

I dont know why but I was almost positive diesels didnt use O2 sensors! :help2::bangin:In general they don't, instead EGT sensors are used, for Diesels it's the exhaust temps that are the criitcal measurement rather than mixtures (for high horsepower tuning).
