Is there such a thing. I changed intakes and went to the ls2 tb. The pcm immediately goes to reduced power mode on power up. Any help would be appreciated. If I replace ls2 tb with the stock etc tb everything is fine.

Turns out the casper electronics tb adapter harness had the 6 wire plug wired wrong. The wires were flipped...talk about screwing a guy over...I am tearing stuff apart for days because someone does not care about what they are doing. I took connector apart and got all the wires in the right holes. I will be telling speedinc to check the rest of the caspers harnesses which many vendors sell. Thanks.

Chuck! Is your car running ok with the 90mm TB,Let me know, Iam installing one soon!
I getting one from LPE, They say I do not need a adapter harness with there TB,

Ouch... Chuck, glad you found it.

I am working on the tune now Jeff. The idle is going to be the hard part (isn't it always) But the large cam is giving me more trouble than the gm tb. I only have 6 inches of vacuum so there are not a lot of MAP cells to work with. The car idled better with the tb incorrectly wired and not functioning than it does now. I need to patiently creep up on the afr it wants at idle. That tb from lingenfelter sounds like the way to go...I had 2 of the gm ones on hand. Thanks.

What you have to do is move to COS5 and enable TPS VE for that cam.

Thanks Highlander. I think I will do that. I need to update my version anyway so I can work with newer ecms. Part of the solutions in this hobby always involve spending more. I am sure the Kiwi's need the cash flow as much as us Yanks do.

highlander, is there anyways to get a a cos5 running on my 02Z06 ETC 12221588OS?
I looked and it seems only cos3 available for me but i really like the features the cos5 offers\
Im having a helluva time getting my 235 243 620 623 111+3 cam dialed in with the stock OS

What year is your corvette....

I have pretty much that exact same setup on a customer... and it did 464rwhp with cus05. Shoot me an email and we can work out a deal.

do you have a fast 90mm or the stock manifold?

Kurtomac. Not to disuade you from the cos purchase (cause I want it also) but I am getting real close with my 02 z (403 fast90portedls2tb,248 254 cam at 111) Highlander has helped. I am finding the changes I have made are in many instances not helpful. It is great to see the cause and effect when I make a change.

To run our 90 mm electronic throttle for the C5 Corvette (and the 2004-2005 CTS-V), the two calibration areas you need to change are:

{B4349} ETC Throttle Area Conversion
{C6101} ETC Predicted Airflow
Both basically just need to be scaled for the new cross sectional area of the throttle body.

B4349 actually goes down in value as the throttle body goes up in size (since the variable is in degrees of rotation per unit area so more area takes less degrees of rotation).

C6101 goes up in relation to the throttle body area.

We use a straight ratio of the increase in calculated throttle area to change both areas although some areas in C6101 don't need to be changed since they are already moved out of the normal cylinder filling area. If you want to retain throttle body diagnostics in case of an electronic throttle failure, do NOT just set this entire table to maximum values.

That is usually all it takes to get a good starting point. After that depending on the camshaft, engine size, boost level (if applicable) etc. you may have to make additional changes to:

ETC Predicted Airflow - just log your cylinder filling for comparison purposes to make sure you won't exceed the expected airflow under normal usage (non-throttle failure usage)
the idle related variables (primarily desired airflow, airflow parked, startup arflow, throttle crack, throttle follower)
Hope this helps.

what value do you speak of for a LS2 tbody on a c5 vette in b4349?
if i lower my value...i have to skyrocket my desired air way high

jrh

We normally use a value of:

0.016667

for our throttle body. We don't use the LS2 throttle because we prefer not to use an adapter harness but the values should be fairly similar. The low throttle angle progression of the LS2 throttle might be different enough to cause some differences at low throttle angles between the two throttles.

We normally only have to command large desired air values when the engine is larger (as would be expected). I don't recall having to change desired air values when all we changed was the throttle body.

Does this look right?

If the area of a 90mm (unmeasured) TB is, 6361.725 mm^2, then
the theoretical % for 1mm = (1/6361.725) * 100 = 0.0157 %/mm

The stock 73 is programmed as 0.0255, yet is ~0.0238 %/mm.
I'm guessing the TBs are not exactly 90 and 73mm respectively.

Using the stock ratio of 0.0255(programmed)/0.0238(calculated) * 0.0157 = 0.0168 %/mm??

Kurtomac

looks right but when i had .0157 in place...i had to jack my desired air wayyyyyy up....put it back to .0255 and now its 11.9 fully warmed up

Kurt,
Lots of similarities with mine. I have bucking in those same areas and about same kpa. Mine seems right on in the 85 105 area and pulls really hard. I have to upgrade my v7.3 for about $400 before I can use the COS. I think the maf is doing a good job of fueling me whenever I am wot but I must have my ve off at light load transition and cruising. I have a similar sbc 406 with a big solid roller and holley speed density injection. It was so much easier to tune than these as you can just make changes as engine is running until the fueling table is steep enough to give it the fuel it wants. Good luck and keep in touch with what works and I will do the same.

That is what EFI told me when I contacted them. They said my version which is from 2005 I believe would have to be upgraded to a newer version in able to use the COS. Is that incorrect?

- FlashScan V1 Scan&Tune,
- FlashScan V1 Scan Only,
- FlashScan V2 Scan&Tune,
- FlashScan V2 Scan Only

Upgrading FlashScan V2 Scan Only to FlashScan V2 Scan&Tune is $400.

If you have FlashScan V1 Personal Scan&Tune, then the upgrade to Commercial Scan&Tune is $50 to do full flashes.

FlashScan V2 already does full flashes.

(COS requires full flash).

The software and COS's are free.

Thanks Joecar. I have FSP V1.2 scan and tune personal version with 4 licenses.
So I should be able to upgrade to Commercial scan and tune for $50 and then be able to do cos after apropriate downloads? I will do that in a heartbeat.

Yes that is correct, you just need to purchase this upgrade:
