can't download my tune, could it be locked?

Hi all, this is my first post. I searched and read the how-to's but didn't find anything that was of any help for my problem.

I have an ls6 w/ a custom OS tuned by a reputable tuner here on the east coast. I just purchased commercial v2 flashscan so I can tweak my settings. so far I've got everything hooked up, the scan program connects to the car no problem but I cannot download my tune.

when I go to the 'flash' tab at the top of the screen in the tune program the option to 'read PCM calibrations' is greyed out. is my tune locked or am I doing something wrong?:help2:

You mean the PCM Read and PCM Flash buttons are greyed out...?

Did you but the Scan&Tune or the Scan Only option...?

If you got the Scan&Tune, then it sounds like your got the wrong license.

I've got the scan and tune version, do you know how I would go about checking the license is correct?

With the tune tool open, go to help/V2 VIN Licensing and see how many licenses are available. if it's 2, you have a Scan and tune, if it's 0, you have a scan only. If you have a Scan only, look in the box for a piece of paper with an upgrade or email me your serial number and I'll see if I have it on file.

I do have the scan tune version, there are two licenses available on that screen.

It should work. When it left here it was already a tune, very occasionally Scans escape.

If the cable is plugged into the computer when you start the tune tool, those buttons should not be grayed out.

I rebooted my cpu then opened the tuning tool and it connected. not sure why that fixed it but I'm just glad it worked.
