im working on a 2000 silverado that i recently put a z06 cam in. it starts hard and idles very rich and rough. would this cam make it run like this? Specs are 204/218 .550/.550 with a 117.5 lsa. i ran the scan tool on it and i didnt get a map sensor reading. the needle never moved off zero. the map PID was selected in the PID's and there wasn't a line through the map gauge in the digital dashboard, so i figured the sensor was picked up by the program but it never got a reading. anyone know whats going on?

did you do a shift f2 to get calibrations of supported pids ???

If the MAP sensor was at fault or had a wiring issue to cause zero volts, you would get a DTC immediately. The engine would possibly not even start.

we unpluged the sensor and it started and ran the same as it did with it pluged in.

You're going to need fuel adjustments after a cam,
but this will be impossible without MAP data.
Did you try logging after a reboot of the software?
Re-validate the PIDs and post a log with SAE.MAP and GM.MAP.
