View Full Version : Engine light again...third time

I just got my truck back and on sunday the engine light came on talking about Shift Selonid B Stuck on "On". I removed the engine light and it didnt show up until this morning again.
Now i had this light pop out right before i had my trans tc, and gear ratio (3.73 to 4.10) swapped so im thinking its something w/ the tune. My friend thinks it something with the gear ratio. I checked my tune and it looked fine for 4.10. Does anybody know what else could be the problem?

Are you getting P0757 even tho it upshifts and downshifts correctly...?
Vince at FLT says to disable P0751 and P0757... those are in the DTC table under Engine Diagnostics.

I see two selection:
C; Non Emissions Related and
X: Non Reported
Which one of these selections make it disable? cuz right now P0752 is on C: Non Emissions related and P0757 is on X: Not Reported.

well it does shift right until the engine light comes on then it hesistate to move which makes me have to step on the pedal harder.

Set them both to X: Not Reported... if that doesn't do it then IDK... P10 pecularity...?
You may be entering limp mode when the MIL comes on due to those DTC's.

Even though P0757 is already disable why disable P0751? What does the P0757 mean that causes the problem to my truck?

See "Conditions for setting the DTC": http://www.ls2.com/boggs/a4/DTC%20P0757%205.7.htm
Basically, "Shift Solenoid B Stuck On", as detected by the ECM's algorithm.
But, if your file has P0757 set to Not Reported, then the ECM should not be setting it...
However, someone has seen similar behaviour regarding P0420 with the P10 and/or P12 ECM...
So we don't know why at the moment.

I didnt disable the P0751 yet but will tonight.
i read it talking about a 1-2-2-1 shift pattern when I accelerate pressing the padel 15% when reached 35-40 mph I notice a vibration under my foot pedal. I dont know if its a tc since we installed a Yank 3600. But my tune is program to lock up on 31 mph if you look at my tune from the first post.
Here is how it goes when we changed the gear ratio on the tune. Speedometer>Parameteres> Speedo Calculator. While on the "Speed Calculator" Tab I input my old tires and old gear ratio (3.73). Then go to the "shift point correction" tab and on orginial calibration I input 3.73 gear ratio then clicked on the "<-" button.
I then go back to "Speed Calculator" Tab I input my NEW tires and NEW gear ratio (4.10). Then go to the "shift point correction" tab and on New calibration I input 4.10 gear ratio then clicked on the "<-" button.
After all that I clicked on "Apply" and now all of the trans shifts have changed. I dont know if what I did was correct or was the cause of this problem unless you notice any other problems that i did wrong...

Honestly I think a bunch of the DTC disable flags dont work in the P10, or at least we're missing another table because Ive turned a few off before and they eventually come back...

Well i just disable the P0751 and P0757 and its still happening. I cant even drive like this everytime reflashing and turning off the codes.
We had remove the 4wd kit, installed 4.10 ring pinion on the rear and upgrade the trans w/ yank converter

Does it have to do with my high stall yank 3600? If so what do i have to change to fix the problem?

I never got P0757...I had P0442 that wouldnt turn off for the longest time but has since magically disappeared (so I dont have it turned off anymore).
Its not a TCC issue it seems like, sounds to me like one of the solenoids inside the trans is shot and might require a shop to replace it. If you were having lockup issues with your TCC then Id say its related. BTW Ill makes some little lockup changes you might like tomorrow or this weekend. Im using forums as an excuse for a study break...:fluffy::blahblah::help2:

lol i have my last 2 exams on the following monday so i know how you feel.
But like i said this happened before i swapped in an upgrade trans. so this problem apprearing at both times with with my old and upgrade trans something is wrong with the tune. replacing the selenoid is a waste of money. Like most people when they install a higher stall found sythoms similar to mine, also get a slipage around 40-50 mph which started after i got the yank tc installed.
ive read something about oem tc wanted to lock and aftermarket tc not wanted to lock which may be the cause for the slippage or the selenoid malfuction. I heard that on the Tc selenoid min i might have to keep it 90% and at TC selenoid Max at 100% but i dont know

http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1793&highlight=p0757You disabled P0757 and it still lit up...?
With the 0411 PCM (in the F/Y-cars) the code will stay disabled (what Vince at FLT said to do).
and
http://www.hptuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12819&highlight=Misfire.cfgYou would do this if your TCC was unlocking due to misfires (there a TSTATE bit indicating this).
Also, try doing a CASE relearn first (stall converter has less mass than stock, so misfire algorithm may misdetect misfire).

well now im hearing a loud metal noise under the floor. im guessing trans, engine or tc. And no im afraid to drive it
goldbergv95
May 10th, 2009, 01:29 AM
well it wasnt the trans or tc it was the ABS light that popped. I dont understand why since the hub are pretty new. Does anybody know how to turn off the ABs light?

May 11th, 2009, 01:10 PM
I think its time to take it to a dealer or independent shop and see what they say...trying to diagnose these problems is next to impossible via the web. I think there's something more going on that isnt related to the PCM flash at all, there is no reason the ABS stuff should even pop up unless there's an issue with the system itself. Ive never got any ABS codes after reflashing, and Ive flashed the same P10 in my 02 like 300-400+ times.

Try setting P0758 to 'Not Reported" , worth a shot .
Isn't a stock stall in the Trailblazer around 3200 ?

Normally a regular Tb has a 1600 stall, but a TBSS has a 1800 stall. Since i have and I6 engine with a Yank 3600 stall the stall decrease to about 3200.
Thanks! Ill try to turn off the code and see what happens.

well i turned off p0758 and it still occurs. My friend tells me when it reaches 40 mph the noise it makes sounds like the changing gears are changing too early. why does it make this noiss?

it seems that the orginial OS is the reason why the engine light does not turn off. I just got a reflash with the lastest modification with a new OS and now the engine codes now turn off thank god! the shifting is getting a little better.
But a new problem arises, im getting tran slippage P1870 even though i have an upgraded trans. What else should I do to fix this? THanks

If you're getting P1870 you need a TCC PWM upgrade kit, once again this is a hard part issue and nothing to do with EFILive or your PCM. Google Superior transmission and look up their code 1870 lockup kit, have it in my trans. Plus the TCC tweaks Ive done, when the TC kicks in its almost another gear shift.

this package comes with the upgraded trans from FLT.
i know the lockup kit has something to do with my high stall tc 3600 which im trying to understand the tcc apply and release part of the tune. after the upgraded OS i used wait4me's tune and it was nearly perfect just need a minor adjustment. im surprised i gain 2 mpg.

Ah I didnt know if FLT included that or not. Makes sense, Ill probably have it done to my SS just because.
Have you copied the TCC lockup part of the wait4me tune to your current one and flashed that?

This is the wait4me tune that on my truck right now.
Remember when i tried to flash the wait4me tune when i couldnt because the OS was different? With the old OS, the shifting under light throttle is ok and around 40 mph I hear and felt the mmmmmmmm noise which is the process of P0757 shifting Soleniod B stuck on On occurs (probably the TC having locking or unlocking problems).
With the latest reflash from the dealer (has several modfications done mostly the trans line 1>2 increased) the low throttle shift was a little harsh BUT the process of P0757 lock or unlocking problems increase from 40 to 50 mph.
*Even turning off the P0757 and P0751 the shifting soleniod still occurs at a certain mph.
Since i have the latest OS I used the Wait4me tune, orginal and the only change was the tires since i just changed them. The p0757 increased to 60mph which was a lot better since i driving below 60 at city. I like this tune much better except i like it with 0 TM since the shifting is way better.
Just now, i changed the tm to O, abuse mode to 0, trans pressure to the old OS, Trans Output Shaft based on the efilive 1693.133820 and Vehicle speed sensor impluses per mile to 112876.000000 and now the P0757 lock/unlocking tc occurs now at 40 mph again.
I will do some more tests to figure out the Tc locking and unlocking issue causing this P0757 unless anyone could provide me some tips to help me overcome this obstical. Thanks :hihi:

Think goldberg upped the TCC min/max apply to like 90% for low and maxed the high PWM table. I do a similar mod with my I6 tunes, everyone loves the TC ramping in faster and locking quicker.
