View Full Version : Few questions about my FlashScan V2

Gentlemen,

I have not used my FlashScan in almost two years. I used one license on my 02 Camaro and now I got a 09 Z06. I'm wondering if I need more than one license for my Z06? I'm not going to touch the transmission parameters.

Another problem I'm facing is that, the Installation CD with the software is lost. Where can I download the CD content so i can install it on my PC?

Last question would be... which version of Firmware should I have on my V2 now?

Thank you

Regards,
Feher

Feher,

Download and install both V7.5 and V8.1 from the page mr.prick (his real name) linked to in post #2.

Then do steps 3 and 4:

3. Start->All Programs->EFILive->V7.5->Tools->Check For New Update and follow the prompts, wait for it to finish updating;
4. Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->Tools->Check For New Update and follow the prompts, wait for it to finish updating;
After doing that, you now have to update the bootblock/firmware in your V2, follow these directions:

Then: read and understand the attached document (serveral times) before upgrading your V2 bootblock/firmware...

the upgrade involves many steps, but is easy if you understand the document.

Failure to understand the document may cause you various headaches.

Do exactly what joecar said, read those instructions twice at least!

For your Z06, just 1 license for both the ECM and TCM is used.

Sorry to bother you guys, but I'm facing a problem now.

My device status is as follows:
Firmware 2.04.39
21 Nov 2006

BOOT LOCK
2.04.10
10 Nov 2006

The problem I'm facing is that when i try to use EFI Live Programmer it gives me a message stating that I upgraded to 2.05 BOOT LOCK! and that I have to use EFI Explorer for anything over 2.04.xx. As you can see, I still have 2.04 version, but the application is not recoginizing it.

When i tried to use the Explorer, the software crashes stating EFILive Flashscan and AutoCal hardware API (HAPI) have stopped working.

I really dont know what to do now.

Is this the step that you're trying to do:

How to program the V2.04.72 firmware:

IMPORTANT:
You only need to perform this firmware upgrade if you have not already upgraded to V2.04.72 firmware. You must install firmware V2.04.72 before you can upgrade FlashScan’s boot block to V2.05.08.
1. Connect FlashScan to your PC while holding down the Ctrl button on FlashScan's keypad. That will put FlashScan into dead-poll mode ready for reprogramming. (To exit dead-poll mode without reprogramming, disconnect and reconnect FlashScan without holding down the Ctrl button.)
If you have left FlashScan powered up in dead poll mode for a long period of time, for example overnight, you should power cycle FlashScan and restart dead poll mode to successfully complete the firmware upgrade.
2. Run the FlashScan Firmware Programmer from Windows:
Start menu->All Programs->EFILive V7.5->Update FlashScan V2 Firmware.
3. Load the FlashScan Firmware File:
\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\FSProg_V2_4_72.ffw
4. Click the [Program] button and wait for FlashScan to restart.
While the firmware is being programmed a "percentage complete" counter will be displayed from 0% to 100%. Sometimes that counter may "freeze", however the reprogramming process will continue. It should be complete in less than 20 seconds. A dialog box indicating success will be displayed when the programming is complete.

I pm'd Tech Support.

Did you use this programmer: C:\Program Files\EFILive\V7.5\EFILive_Firmware.exe

Thank Joecar. It worked now. When i logged in V2 again, it gave me the option to upgrade to BOOT LOCK 2.05.08. I did it through V2 controller it self. Im waiting for it to complete now.

These are the available files i have on my PC. Which one should i upgrade to? As you can see, the BOOT LOCK is at 2.05.08 now, but I'm still getting flashing orange lights and in the screen it says BOOT LOCK upgrade in progress. "Do not Interrupt".

firmware = 2.06.06
bootblock = 2.06.02

If so, then get 2.06.07 by installing V8 from here:

Thats either your V2 or SD card memory is not formatted properly. Open up EFILive Explorer, go to F9:Config and format the filesystem.
