What are the symptoms?

The correct procedure for installing FlashScan and the USB drivers is this:

1. Connect FlashScan to the PC
2. Wait for the driver installation wizard to start. If it does not start, then open the Windows Control Panel and select Add Hardware.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

You may need to uninstall any partially installed FlashScan drivers:
Make sure no EFILive software is running.
1. Disconnect FlashScan.
2. Right click on "My Computer"
3. Select Properties->Hardware->Device Manager
4. Open Universal Serial Bus Controllers
5. Select "EFILive FlashScan FSP" if it exits - if not then goto step 7 below.
6. Rght click and select Uninstall.
Then
7. Open the windows control panel and select "Add/Remove Software".
8. Find FTDI FTD2XX USBDrivers
9. Select Change/Remove, then Continue.
Then
10. Reconnect FlashScan and follow the first set of instructions above.
