I just upgraded my firmware to 2.06.10 and now my Flashscan v2 is all messed up. It will not display any data and it will skip a line when trying to scroll through menus and stuff. When I do the self tests #4 ALD comes up as FAIL now when it never did before...Please let me know what the deal could be.

Thanks

Update: I ran a full self test and came up with 3 'fails'. I attatched a crappy cell phone pic of my results. If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. I have tried to revert back to my older firmware that worked but it wont let me flash in a older firmware.

Let me know ASAP, Thanks!

I see your AD2 shows 0 like mine was.
See these threads:
AD2 died (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=10860)
External AD and TEMP inputs (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=10900)
There is another version of the firmware right now,
and probably a new one on the way.

Is this what is happening to ones that update to the firmware 2.06.10?

Also samh you can capture the screen display from the V8 Explorer software.
To do so in new version open V8 software.
Goto Device Settings.
Hit the Read button. If ask to save before hand say no there.
Now there is a new icon in the lower right corner of your desktop. Looks like the FlashscanII.
Click on it and it opens a new window. In the list is one called F10 LCD Capture.
Click that and select on the Flashscan II yourself the screen you wish to capture.
Select Capture then the save.

I think there has been a bug with the ADs for the last 2 or 3 firmwares.
there is another version now.

Thanks Brian1 and mr.prick for the tips! I updated to the firmware in the link you shared and I no longer get a failure. I had to reformat and reset everything in my flashscan unit to get it all back to normal.

I hooked it up to my car a while ago and I couldn't read my current calibrations, but I could program a new one. I dont know what the deal is with that but Im just happy my V2 works again.

I guess I have to be very careful when dealing with new firmwares and software...

Why could'nt you read?
Did you select your PCM?

Yes, I did everything the same as I always have done but I wouldnt read my current calibrations. I didn't try reading it after I flashed the new cal in though..

Everything looked like it was working just fine, but when I actually came down to transferring data from the PCM to my laptop, nothing was happening..no countdown or anything (still said it was reading the PCM though)

I just tried reading my PCM calibrations again and the same thing happened as before. I took some screen shots to help explain... The first shot is where it hangs, and the second shot is the message I get when I have to stop it. Its like the program goes into a continuous loop and doesn't do what it says it is doing.

BTW I have waited for up to 15 minutes for the program to do its thing and only received the same results. Keep in mind this first happend after the latest firmware.

Let me know your thoughts, Thanks!
Sam

I would suggest... Do a reflash of the current firmware... it worked for me.
