I just downloaded V8.1.2 Bld55, V7.5.5 Bld87, and V2.06.10 Firmware and now my V2 does not work. Get error $0483. Get failed #4, #5, & #6 when I run self tests.

Cmon don't you think this is ridiculous. It is 5/25/09 and if there is a bug it should have been removed from the down load materials!!!

I need assistance!

Try this
FSProgV2_06_10_May_25.efw (http://forum.efilive.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=5450&d=1243198528)

Apparently its now worse - Trying to select PIDS I get "Options.txt not found". I don't use any wide band and now the self test is in a loop and will not complete! Had error $0483 with the first V2.06.10 download! There are no config files down and I can't move any down I get Error $1082 not formatted! This is turning into quite a mess!

What next?

Have you read this (see attached)...?

You need to copy Options.txt from your PC to your V2 using either EFILive Explorer (EE) or Scan&Tune (S&T).

What were the bootblock/firmware versions before you updated...?

Joecar -

Where is that info. never did that before? (with an update) I downloaded off the MAIN website and you might think there would be a note or two about it!

JR

HAD:

V8.1.2 Bld44
V7.5.5 Bld86
V2.06.06 FMWR
V2.06.02 BB

All worked perfectly and was updated periodically with no problems so what is going on with the new upgrades???

Now that we are back to complicated updates please give me the steps to get this working again - Thanks

Mr. Prick -

Your Firmware fails self test #2, 4, 5, 6 not just 4, 5, & 6

It's working fine for me,
are you having problems flashing because of this?
Look in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\EFILive\V8\Config
for the options.txt, if you don't have it there search you computer for it.

Havn't gone that far yet - just doing the update. My Vette is in the trailer ready for next weekends event. Not looking forward to going to the drags and find out V2 doesn't work!!!

works fine for me (not helpful, I know). I initially had issues that made no sense, so I un-installed 7 + 8, downloaded the latest 7,8+firmware, installed the lot then it updated the firmware and everything was hunky dory again. I've no idea if there was an error (other than user) eally apparent though.

Mr. Prick -

I do have an options file in my Config and maybe self test #4, 5, 6 failed, before I don't remember - I doubt it though. I would NOT be a happy camper if I have to delete and reinstall all this software because of this update!!!

True, but as I hadn't bothered to read any install instructions I figure it's even on time ;-)

un-install and re-install was only about 10 mins

Error $0483 (http://forum.efilive.com/showpost.php?p=94811&postcount=10)
Try this:
open EFILive Explorer and copy the new .pmm files and options.txt
to the V2.

You can possibly have a bad install of the software.

Mr. Prick -

I did that twice already!

Well I uninstalled V7.5 & V8 and reinstalled both with the SAME RESULT FAIL 4, 5 & 6. BIG WASTE OF TIME! Unless 4, 5, and 6 are supposed to fail something is wrong!

i updated the firmware to 2.06.09 tonight and had to format the filesystem and set the time/date as it wouldnt connect back up to efilive explorer.

DONT USE 2.06.09! Check for Updates inside your V8 folder in the start menu then flash 2.06.10 in.

And you have to reformat everything when you upgrade past 2.06.07 IIRC, lots of changes occurred that the end user doesnt see.

Ok, has everyone updated to bb 2.06.02 and fw 2.06.10 (obtained from V8.1 build 55)...?

When you flashed those did you:
- flash the FS files (and not the AC files)...?
- checkmark Bootblock for bb, and unchecked it for fw...?

After flashing did you:
- format the Config space (using EE)...?
- format the Data spaces (internal and SD, using V2)...?
- copy the relevant *.pmm files and the Options.txt file to the Config space (using EE)...?

Your firstpart is confusing as the new downloads are "self installing" off the EFILive website. Once their in, then YES I did the second part of your post.

After getting the "failed" stuff on self test. Saved my custom stuff then Uninstalled V7 & V8 and reinstalled them off the website along with the "New" firmware, did the second part of your post and still get the 3 failed issues on self test.

My concern is that the 3 "failed" tests will somehow screwup BBL if not, then I am probably good to go, and was good to go with the first firmware download of the 5/20/09 stuff!

It should be noted that if the 3 failed tests don't effect anything, then a NOTE SHOULD HAVE ACCOMPANIED THE FIRMWARE TO AVOID ALL OF THIS!!!

I just wanted to make sure you flashed the new firmware into your V2.

Don't do the self test (when you do it, you may have to reformat the Config/Data spaces and copy the files again)...

I went and did the self test, it failed 2,4,5,6...
then I reformatted all the spaces and copied the files (*.pmm, Options.txt to Config, *.dtc to Scan), set date/time...
and then I was able to do BBL successfully.
