i just got a tune from jesse and not sure how to dump it to my truck?

do i hit flash then program pcm? just want to make sure.
can i save the tune on the v2 or do i need laptop to load it always

pretty sure you need laptop regradless ??? load the bin file into tune program and as long as everything is fine (no modifications needed) you can just upload to the pcm

do i do a full flash or just program pcm? also my controller i hit ls1 99-08 ?
my truck is a 04 6ltr gmc.i got a email tune from wait4me

i tried program pcm and got a error no data from pcm or something like that

am i missing something ?

can some tell me the basic way to load a email tune to my truck that i have? i want to make sure i am doing it right and cant find any guides on how to

First:
connect cable to vehicle and start tunetool,
select your contoller (is it 1999-2008 LS1 PCM...?),
read the flash (Flash->Read PCM Calibratioon),
save to file (File->Save tune as),
turn ign key off for at least 15 seconds,

Then do the following only if the read was successful:
copy the email tune file to My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\Bins,
open the tunetool,
open that file,
open as alternate file your stock tune file (File->Load Alternate)... you must have presviously done this,
compare the two (File->Display Calibration Differences),
if they can be compared, and if the changes are safe, then proceed,
turn ign key on and restart tunetool (and open email file),
do a cal-only flash (Flash->Program PCM Calibrations), it should take less than 30 seconds,
when flash has finished, turn off ign key off for at least 15 seconds.

I don't know...

Try 1999-2008 LS1 and try reading the PCM... if it successfully reads, then that's the right one.

If you cannot successfully read the PCM, then do not write to it.

Ok, save the read binary to file... and make a backup copy to CD or USB memory fob... this is your original tune.

Follow the steps in post #10...

Do not do a full flash (it is not necessary unless you are changing OS).

yes no problems in comparing lots of changes from my stock one . it runs but idle was low at start but seems better now

Before flashing take these precautions:
0. make sure your laptop battery is fully charged,
1. make sure your vehicle battery is fully charged,
2. pull up the ebrake (to keep the daytime running lamps off),
3. shut all doors (to keep dome lamp off),
4. shutdown all accessories (stereo, headlights),
5. keep you foot off the brake pedal (keep stop lamps off),
6. don't play with anything in car while flashing,
7. don't move cable while flashing (keep still),
7. disable OnStar if it tries to talk on the serial bus (pull it's fuse).

Basically, you want to avoid two things:
- any voltage drops, current flows, of voltage/current spikes,
- any module chatting on the serial bus (like OnStar or BCM when door opens).

If you read ok, then writing should be ok.

LONGFT2
SPARKADV
KR
IAT
ECT
TFT
GEAR
TCCMODE
TFMPRS
LASTSHIFT

On the PIDs tab keep the channel count 24 or less.

hey joecar i made a pid list but cant find LASTSHIFT ? also how do i get it on my v2?

Oh, my bad, it is called SHIFTLAST.

To set that pid list in your V2 you have to run V8.1 Scan&Tune...

You set the name/controller in the blue section (rightclick->Properties, select controller, change name)...

then drag pids from the yellow section to the green section, arrange the order of the pids in the yellow section,

watch the green/blue box bargraph at the bottom of the yellow section, when it turns red you have too many pids/channels.

then save and program to V2.
