Ok. so I'm buried with work.............and I am trying to tune a 1998 C5...........it takes the V2 cable 15 times to connect to the car. Maybe if I stay at the shop all night I can get two good dyno pulls on it..............

What is the problem with V2 and hooking up to 98's? I have to unplug everything and then use the V2 to see if it sees the cars vin number...........this takes 14 times..........

Can someone tell me what the problem is before I have to pull my OTHER cable out of the cabinet........

I just read through a thread about a 98 PCM on LS1TECH.
It does'nt pertain to your topic but it's interesting. IMO
HP tuners cooked my 1998 VCM (http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/1123751-hp-tuners-cooked-my-1998-vcm.html)

Hmmmm... Recently, I've tuned MANY 98s with no problems. Be sure ALL of the accessories in the vehicle are off...

Not sure where to begin....

Oh I got it working........had to plug and unplug the V2 15 times! No real mystery to reading and writing at this point in time.......it was just an issue that did not happen on any other PCM but this 98'

I think that particular vehicle may be having some problems with connectors/grounds not being completely sound.
