Joe,

I must have missed a step on the install. When I came back in the house to cry for help, I noticed that several of the parameters in the EFI Custom Calibrations folder still had the little blue brackets around the settings (like they had been changed but not saved). Plus, you will see the out of range items in the tune.

Thanks,

Bob

Bob,

To fix OOR cells, see this: showpost.php?p=87052&postcount=14 (http://forum.efilive.com/showpost.php?p=87052&postcount=14)

I'll look thru your file.

Fix the OOR values, and do cal-only flash.

It should run the same as your 12212156.

Did you do these steps:
- do full-flash of 02020005 (COS5);
- do cal-only-flash of your running 12212156;
- read the flash and save to new tune file (as 02020005/COS5);
- in the new tune file, fix all out-of-range cells, save file, reopen tunetool;
- do cal-only-flash of the the edited new file;
- read thru this: attachment.php?attachmentid=1978&d=1187049515 (http://%5burl=%22http//forum.efilive.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1978&d=1187049515%22)

Are you setting injector and spark pulses...?

Does the scantool indocate rpm during cranking...?

Well, I got all of the OOR's gone and got the car to start. When ECT was below 178 or so, it was wayyyyy rich. In the 10:1 range and dipping to the high 9's. Once it warmed up, it seems to be pretty lean. I'm a bit nervous about the COS. Not sure I am ready for it.

I attached my most recent tune and log. If anyone can pick it apart, I'd like the feedback.

I am targeting WOT AFR at 12.6:1 and ~ 24*.

I will use the retard ability of the COS to pull timing on spray but will use jets to compensate AFR.

Bob, take a look at the B3647 commanded fuel table. Your original table B3605 that has been transferred over to this tune uses ECT & MAP. This table uses MAP & RPM.(one of the good points in using a COS.) Check out the AutoVE tutorial on how to set up this table, but remember that anywhere you command stoich will bring STFT into play. I prefer to set the low load areas to 14.5 until autoVE is complete.

Well, I got some of my idle and part throttle issues solved (maybe not fixed but much better).

But, here's the problem. First, I lost my log file of my drive with a few short WOT pulls. The WOT pulls were short because my AFR at WOT stayed around 14:1. My fueling is not following the B3647 and B3618 tables at all.

I really need some feedback on my tune I attached. I included a couple short idle logs, too.

The cars seems to run very well at part throttle but I will melt down at WOT.

Please be critical of my spark and fueling settings. Really, I can take it!!
I am not too concerned with the custom file yet. I just want it to run right.

I included my last tune in the old OS, as well. It certainly did NOT run the same as the old OS after I installed COS5. I am not sure where I went wrong.

Check out the changes I made to B3647. This will get you more in the ballpark for AutoVE. As for PE it is not really necessary for a COS as the map rpm reference really does it for you in B3647.

You maybe should recalculate B4001 IFR before starting AutoVE iteration.

Good catch Joe.:cheers:

Got it. That was a big miss on my part. That has been there since my mail order tune.

What, other than the obvious lack of accuracy, might that have caused?
Just curious if that was part of my surging problem.

Thanks
