Is anyone else having any issues with the v2.06.10 firmware from 5/25/09? I can't read my LBZ or LLY, ECMs, I was able to scan my LLY ECM, but not the LBZ, 02-04 4cyl PCM or 06+ Allison TCM. I can pull OS and VIN info from all of them using the V2, but can't pull that info using the tune tool and passthrough. I can pull the VIN and OS info on the Class2 controllers (LLY, 4cyl) though. Any thoughts?

Ok, I downgraded to the "original" 2.06.10, tried to read the LBZ controller, failed, then updated back to the May 25th FW, and now I can read the LBZ ECM, BUT it didn't pull the VIN or calibration number in the read (they both show N/A).

Hi guys,

Just did the upgrade and now I cannot toggle between metric and imperial units with the enter button. I know this was answered a while back but I cannot seem to find it now. I also have bootblock 2.06.02.

thanks, Jim

Jim,

Open Scan&Tune, for each pid in the lower left (green) pane do rightclick->properties and fill in "quick select".

Save and Program.

I can reproduce that same behavior here, I am looking at why and figuring out a solution.

Any news? Am I the only one having this issue?

Let me know if you want any more trace files.

Still working on it.
Just to avoid any confusion, I am working on getting the VIN to populate while reading the ECM.

Ok, FYI, I can't read any of the Class2 controllers I have; Attached is a blx from trying to read the LLY ECM in my truck.

I have seen two of these types of traces in the past week. I do not know (yet) what is causing the problem. A new firmware update (V2.06.12) will be available later today. I recommend updating to it and trying the read again.

I will post a link here when it is available.

Paul

Ok, I updated to the 2.06.12 firmware, and I can now read my LLY ECM, but the LBZ & LMM die at "Getting status"

On an unrelated note, just an FYI, there's no "Downloads->What's New/Changed" on the website. There was, but it's been gone for a while.

The traces show that there is a problem with the CAN communications.

Can you use FlashScan in standalone mode to retrieve the VIN and/or serial number from an LBZ/LMM or 6 speed Allison? That will test the CAN coms without having the PC/software involved.

If not, then that indicates either FlashScan's ro the vehicle's CAN interface is possibly faulty.

I just tried reading an LBZ and an Allison 6 speed here and both read ok.

Have you updated the Tune Tool software to V7.5.5 build 88 as well?

Hmm... Yes, It'll pull the VIN and OS from the LMM, LBZ and 6 speed TCM in standalone; I'm going to try uninstalling 7.5 and re-installing...

Edit: Well, I feel retarded...:doh2: I was able to read the VIN info, then not. Checked the cable, and found the brown wire was severed (I had to replace the RJ45 connector some time back as the tab broke off). After replacing the connector again, I can read the LMM ECM.

Yes, I did.
