When i hook up to the truck i get a pcm locked message. I should be able to pull the stock file off the truck with out a lisense shouldnt i? What am i doin wrong.

Reading the PCM does not require a license.

Did you select the correct controller...?

as far as i know i did i selected the 98-00 vortec controller. It a 2000 5.3 which one is the corect one?

What truck is it in? Try 99-09 LS1 PCM and see if that works. Have you checked Try Alternate Keys for the 98-00 Vortec PCM too?

Scarab is right. Select the LS1 controller.
