You should see the black box logging after you update the firmware and bootblock on the V2.

I've done all that the 98-00 Vortec PCM is NOT on the list !!!
and when are we getting black box flashing.

No it isn't. In my opinion, I would strongly consider upgrading to the 2001+ LS1 style PCM anyways. The black box flashing feature is still in closed beta testing. It will be done when it is done.

I've got a 12200411 (LS1) PCM and the connectors. I've been on the
GM Performance Forum for quite a while now, they were some of the
first people to do that swap on the vortec trucks. And since perfected
it. I know it's not a huge deal to do the swap it's just that I would like to
find the limits of the black box PCM and black box logging would help that.

L31,
The 0411 swap is TOO easy. Don't even mess with that Black Box PCM. All you are going to do is waste a license.

Just my opinion---Jeff

The Vortec Black Box is there, under "Vortec 98-00 PCM"
I use it for my 1998 s-10...

Jeff you've known me for a while now. You might recall that my swap is already in the works. I have the stuff, you sent me the file (thanx by the way)
The license part is already taken care of.

Gameover thank you for the screen shot, however vortec is not on my list??

It looks like is using the options.txt from a older version of the software, or it was added manually.

I am Beta testing though...oops...:D

I'll try & remember...L31 is the controller name. If it doesn't come up you have to go to options.txt file and manually add it like nevinsb said...it's pretty simple

I added it to options.txt however it is still not in my list of controlers.

The part in red on that screen shot is written by you in the Scan&Tune under controllers-caption #1 & #2

post up your options.txt file so we can look at it

On the controller pulldown you have to scroll down (the Vortec 98-00 is 6th from the bottom after you scrolled to the end).

You downloaded/installed V8.1 build 58, right...?

The V8/Pid Descriptions/L31_PIDs.txt is also missing.

I was able to manually add it to the options.txt (But I don't have anything to test it on). L31Sleeper, did you add it both to the beginning of the options.txt file and to the end of the file (where it says PSL_23 or the next available slot)?

I DID IT, I DID IT !!!

I still don't know if it is going to work but I will try tomrrow.
So here is what you have to do. Options.TXT only edits the
main selection menu. The controller menu is in EFILive.INI
C:/Program Data/EFILive/V8

OK guys I did it. All I had to do is UPLOAD the info from my V2
to the software, doing that gave me the same menu that GAMEOVER has.

Glad you got it to work...:thumb_yello:

Yes seems there is a bug somewhere that sometimes does not create the EFILive.ini during certain procedure that I never figured out. I never had the issue on the EFILive but dealt with one guy that could not select the controller in the pull down menu. Turned out he was missing the controller section in the EFILive.ini file. He did uninstall and reinstall but never got it back. Final cut and pasted the contents from mine and it worked. Now apperantly working with Pual on this he thinks the file is locked during updates. But I can unistall my build 58 and it deletes the EFILive.ini file. Pual was thinking of creating too files where some things that do change go in there and others stuff that does not change goes in another ini file.
