If I do not have EFILive will I have to go to a dealership to get my transmission shift adaptives' reset?

We have a finicky harsh 1-2 shift that only happens at a narrow range throttle position.

Around 1/4 throttle or so it will be harsh. It's almost like you have to micro adjust to find it or make it repeat. a pain in the A.

If I get a GM tech to do it will I have to worry about my EFILive tune?

If you reset the adaptive shifts, they will most likely relearn themselves to the same values... they are continually relearning, and they have learned themselves to those values... or they could be learning out-of-range (i.e. pegged)... the result being a harsh 1->2 shift... this is an indication that a table is incorrect, or that there is some mechanical/hydraulic/electrical problem.

(Check the IAT sensor wiring, check clean MAF).

If you take it to the GM dealer they will most likely reflash the PCM, or they may even replace the PCM (at your expense).
