Howdy all, what I am trying to do is rest the change oil light on my wifes 03 ponitac grand am with the 3.4l engine. I do not know what ecm this uses plus in the supported vehicle list it is not named. Is there any way to get into it. P.S. The rest button in the fuse panel will not rest it dunno why either, thats why I call it the Grand Dam*it :fluffy:

Thanks in advance.

How do you reset the change oil light on a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am?

The owners manual tells you to turn the key to the on position shortly after having the engine running then press and hold the rest button inside the fuse panel. It normally works but this time it refuses to work. I know about the gas pedal trick on newer stuff but didnt know it would work on this, have to give it a try.

Is there any way to run the scanner option on a non listed vehicle? I thought that I had read some where that the scanner function will work on most OBD2 vehicles.

Just tried the gas pedal three times no good either.

When you press the reset button, you have to have had just turned off the engine (as said above) and then with ignition key on, press firmly on the reset button, you may have to "jiggle" while pressing... takes 15+ seconds.

based on my Mrs's 02 GAGT.

BTW: have you fallen into the BCM relearn no-start condition yet...?

No not yet :) Im about to jiggle the thing into the river, it eats ac compressors for lunch, it is on its fourth one. Nobody can figure out why either, and now the darn oil light wont rest. Can't I just swap it to a 411 pcm and be done with it?
