Just about to pick up a VXR8 (Pontiac G8) with the LS3. Unlike my old monaro not really looking to do much to the engine map this time other than to improve the AFR at WOT. Am I correct in thinking the VE is a lot more accurate stock than in the past and if so should be a simple case of upping the commanded or have things really moved on from the old LS1 maps?

Like a kid wating for Christmas, next 5 days will be hard!

Welcome to the world of polynomials and constants Sir.
Have a look at this http://redhardsupra.blogspot.com/2009/06/parametric-ve-explained.html

There is some dicussion on this forum as well as here http://www.hardcorels1.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3337

TBH with my LS2 I just checked over everything. It wasnt too far out. You can just change commanded to say 13:1 but it will need checking on a dyno or with a wideband etc.

Personally Id turn off long term trims as well. Then you wont get the extra trims being added to WOT fueling.

Thats what Id do. Get it to say 13:1 and turn off LTFT's as a stage one.

yep first port of call is ltft's, limiter. Will look at what the commanded is on the tables and then see about getting it to 13.1 then a trip up to m-tech or charlies for a quick diag run.

I still have a few lc's around but tbh cannot be arsed with it.
