not sure if i'm missing something, but cruising home from the track yesterday, my converter would not lock on the highway.

i was in 4th, doing 120 (kmh), 8% tps value, my table is at 85kmh up to 20% tps. the only way it would lock, was if i went in thru the scanner and commanded it.

Are you getting any misfires (log the misfire pids)...?

yesterday i did get p0300 a few times....nothing changed in the car, first time it happened, does this prevent lockup?

any ideas on p0300, checked all the wires, plugs and so on....and nadda

Do rightclick->More Info on the various TSTATE pids (upto from TSTATE00 upto TSTATE12) and log the ones that contain the reasons for TCC release...

also log MFTOTAL;

if you get consistent misfire counts above some threshold, then the PCM will not apply the TCC... the TSTATE bits will show the reason why.

did a log. are ls1's more sensitive to tps position? seems to unlock very easy, didn't notice anything out there in the log. no codes and misfires.

it did lock up when over the vss value, just seemed that if unlocked and still above the engage point, was hard to get it to re-engage, had to play with the gas pedal to get it locked again.

i could email you the log if you want to look at it, don't have a way to host it myself.

You can post copies of the log and tune files in this thread...

Click Go Advanced and then click Manage Attachments.

Steve40,

Is this a 4L60E/4L80E transmission...?

Log these pids: TSTATE09, TSTATE10, TSTATE12 (the 1st two show TCC unlock reasons),

Remove all the other TSTATE pids,

and take another log... (sorry I should have been more specific on which TSTATE pids).

sorry bout that log, not sure what i did, here is a new one.

its a 4l60e. it seems that i notice it unlocking if the tps value goes below 5%. is that a factory setting?

I looked in the log file, but it doesn't contain TSTATE09 and TSTATE10... we really need those 2 pids...

Remove: TSTATE59, TSTATE60.

Add: TSTATE09, TSTATE10.

To maximize sample rate, also remove: SHRTFT1, SHRTFT2, HO2S11, HOSS21.

Save your pid selection to file before taking another log.

Also post your tune file.

ok, so i find this very messed up. here is a screen shot of the pids i logged.

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj96/steve_davidson14/random%20stuff/pids.jpg

which has tstate 09, 10 and 12.

now here is a screen shot of when the log is opened.

http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj96/steve_davidson14/random%20stuff/pids2.jpg

tstate 09 and 10 are gone, and 59 and 60 appear.

also, not sure if this helps at all. but after making the log and on the way home, codes p0300, p0461, p1380 & p1381 came up.

edit....just tried again...the log reads the correct tstate pids, if i re-open the log they are gone and the other 2 appear.

Not related: your B1207 is out of range, set it to some in range value.

any idea what a typical value for this is? why would you not want it 0?

I'm looking into this problem. It may be a fault in EFILive software.

Well down to 2 things I think.

1. Is there a way to lower the min tps value needed for the converter to stay engaged? Seems that when locked I only need 5% tps, so any little movement in the pedal is causing it to unlock. (What I noticed from driving and watching the dashboard screen)

2. I was at the track the other week, and after doing the burnout the trans felt like it was slipping. I disabled P0757, P0758 and reduced the Torque Reduction to 0 for values over 400 Nm in each gear. Drove around last night with the radials back on, stopped, and did the same thing I do at the track and still feels like it was slipping. If the car is shut off for a few min and restarted, its back to normal again.

Unfortunately it is a bug in the V7.5 software. There is currently no workaround. A new release will be available asap that contains the fix.

I looked at those tables, they are all the Apply and Release speeds. What I meant was I'm over the speed to apply the converter, but need less than 5% tps value to maintain it. When I'm above 5% tps, the converter locks and I'm accelerating instead of maintaining that speed.
