The small laptops that can fit into your glove box are now available and cheap. I just saw Dell advertise one for $199.00 that I think can be fitted in a permanent handy space in your car like a glove box with a pivot.
Someone should make those pivots and mounts for these small pcm's as you can even use EFILive to log, tune and watch a movie or use it for your stereo and directions!
I think that is a cool thing and practical toy.

I've been using a souped up Dell mini 9 netbook for tuning for a while, it works great, I use it for school too. there are other brands too. V2 should work on them as well.

Thanks for the info Aloicious,

Do you think they can be adapted to have the screen fit into the dash where the stereo is with the key board moved to the middle console for a C5 or maybe the the glovebox for a permanent install? Like the screens in the C6 for directions and geo maps, do they have a touch pad? I have not seen one in person but $199.00 that one heck of a deal. V2 would actually be better as you could use the hand held for use on other cars with a perminant install like I am talking about.
I would love to have EFILive along with the iTunes and internet available from the car with a permanent instal now that the price is right. I bet the dell also weights less than my stock stereo not counting the speakers of course. I will go to the Dell web sight. What are the other brands in that size and Price range? I have not bought V2 but a couple of our Chevys need V2. I was not going to touch them but now they are out of the factory warranty 3 years/36,000 miles(we do have an extended dealership warranty on the wifes MC SS but not my sons Cobalt SS.) I am trying to talk my wife into it. I am able to scan both cars with V1 even the Cobalt but I do have to cut the HP in 1/2 for a very accurate reading.
Got off track there. I like the laptop use allot and really want to put one in my car along with RR but I have to also install a newer PCM (98 to an 99-04) this winter and also might have to devote the EFILive cord to the install I am looking at.
What do you mean souped up? I am kind of computer literate and did build a few computers a long time ago (14 years or longer) in the DOS days and WIN 3.1. Are you a student or a teacher?
Thanks and I am glad you like them as that is a real endorsement as I think you really know your stuff.
Thanx,

PS I am also looking for a very compact use for My Harley's as I have a tuning program for those too and would like to have the same apps for those as well!
