I finally got ahold of pinouts and schematics to make a standalone harness for a (E38) 2007 Silverado 5.3ltr**58 Tooth Reluctor & Electronic throttle... After looking over the pinouts, quite a few pin assignments refer to "LOW REFERENCE" Does that mean ground? Or? I don't want to proceed till I know what Low Reference is referring to...:help2:

They are all common grounds.
You just need to connect to the 'big' ground pin, which is Pin 73 on the black plug.

OK cool! Thanks Ross...

the low references are for the sensors. You need to follow the circuit number back the the sensor otherwise it won't see the right low ref from the sensor and the computer will not be happy.

P.S. Ross, I still haven't got this combo to work stand alone yet. I must be missing something.

Ross,
Do you know if there is a catch in the software that doesn't allow the injectors to be fired if no oil pressure is seen? I don't have the oil press. sensor hooked up right now and I think that might be what is bagging me.

We have done a few looms without the oil pressure sender connected and they are fine... sounds like VATS in the software or injectors dont have 12v power... (possible wiring fault)

Here is a screen shot of the VATS. I don't get why it the VTD.2s is enabled. I have all the vats stuff turned off with the Patch applied? What am I missing here?

The screen shot is during cranking, incase you were wondering.

Do you have to run the switched power relay to get these to run right? I just have Ignition voltage going to the sensors and the 2 pins in the computer? I know the factory uses the Power relay, but I shut off all the diagnostics for this.

ok getting somewhere now, I guess. I am getting a P1629 Anti-Theft code!!!!

I know I have all the stuff turned off. I did a full reflash, what gives?
The thing that doesn't make sense is it will run with a LS7 cal and then I also tried a 2008 Holden Commodore (Middle East) Sedan Automatic L98 6.0 Litre (PCM 12612381).tun, started and ran, but with the attatched cal, it won't fire?

is it a brand new E38... what was the orig tune in it...

you cant go flashing these things with just any tune like you could with LS1 PCM's... it has to be specific to the "BASE" tune that was in it....

otherwise you may need a tech2 and tis to change it...
