it actually runs great windows 7 is flawless so far and is quite fast and clean. the only thing i dont like and it could be the way i have it set but it uses a ton of memory when i am loading up my MP3 player (Zune) and checking something on the internet. but other than that it is awesome. and thank you all for the links so i can get this baby hooked to the truck.

I don't advise using the new FW with this update.
There is an extremely annoying bug with the V2 loosing connection to the PCM.

ok i downloaded the driver software but now i cant un zip it. so i uninstalled everything and found an old external cd-rom and booted it up. i downloaded the software just like you would with a desktop or laptop. but i still cant get the drivers to unzip or work. is it because i have windows 7 that the drivers dont work? please help i am not good at online stuff or for that matter computers only. if i could talk to one of the programmers on the phone or efi live guys on the phone or direct e-mail. thanks so much.

Drivers do work fine with Windows 7 (I'm sitting here using Windows 7 Ultimate x64).

Shoot me an email at support@efilive.com and we can pick this up.

Get WinZip or WinRar to unzip the .zip files, the built-in Windows unzipping utility is pretty bad.

You shouldnt have any issues, just get on your netbook, download the latest software from the website then the updates from the thread Tordne listed, install the software normally, then unzip the files to the install directory (most likely C:\Program Files\EFILive\ if 32 bit, if 64 bit then C:\Program Files (x86)\EFILive\ . If you have an Program files (x86) then put it there.). Plug your V2 in, then when it says drivers not found say I have a disk, click browse, go to C:\Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\EFILive\Win-2K-XP-Vista\ and hit ok. Should be everything you need, then go about updating the bootblock (if its not 2.06.02) and firmware 2.06.16.

- Connect FlashScan to your laptop.
- Right-click on the ‘My Computer’ icon and select the ‘Manage’ option’.
- In the left hand tree select ‘Device Manager’.
- If the drivers are loaded you should see a device with ‘FlashScan’ in the
name under the ‘Universal Serial Bus controllers’ section. If not it will
be listed as an ‘Unknown Device’.
- If it is shown as ‘Unknown Device’ right-click on the ‘Unknown Device’ and
select the ‘Update Driver Software’ option. The drivers are located in the
‘C:\Program Files\EFILive\Drivers\EFILive\Win-2K-XP-Vista’ folder, so choose
the ‘Browse my computer’ or advanced options and select this location to
search.

Don't be tempted to navigate to the 'amd64' folder when loading drivers.

Yep, thats for x64 based stuff (know you know this Andrew, its for computer-challenged folks).

I'm pretty sure (haven't tried for a while) that if you select the amd64 directory when loading the drivers (on a 64 bit machine) the driver install fails. That is a problem I do get occasionally with customer thinking (correctly) they are doing the right thing :)

Hmm, I guess Ive just always pointed it to the main directory and it works. Why waste the extra mouse click, so I dont bother. If I have to manually install it for some reason, I point it there and it works.
