97Vette using v7.4 I have the pids selected for AutoVE but cannot validate them. All items under the 'Info' menu are grayed out. Is my V1 flashscan defective? :help2:

The 7.4 version is now very old and no longer supported. Please update to the latest release from our website: http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=133

Or install the latest pre-release from here: http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=12014

Before installing the latest software please uninstall the current 7.4 release. Backup up the 'C:\Program Files\EFILive' and 'My Documents\EFILive' folders before hand in case there is anything you wish to keep.

Are you connected to the PCM?

I've been there and done that... etc.

Make sure the VIN is valid. EFILive uses the VIN (the first 2 characters) to determine if it should load the manufacturer's enhanced PIDs or not.

Really, you just need to make sure the VIN has the first 2 digits of 1G, the rest is ignored by efilive for gas vehicles.

If you're not currently connected, you can set the VIN used by EFILive with the menu option: File->Enter VIN.

If the VIN in the vehicle is missing or wrong, you can change it using the menu option: Bidirectional->Change VIN.

Paul

Had yellow exclamation mark on the usb in the device manager, reinstalled device driver as well as v7.5. Scan tool working again.

current v7.5.6 build 112. The tune tool shows operating system as 19970200, but that op system is not in the drop down list in the scan tool under the 'enter vin' menu.

Can't validate these pids:
GM.IAC_LTD_DMA
GM.IAC_STD_DMA
GM.CYLAIR_DMA
GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA

The 1997/8 OS's might not have all the _DMA pids defined.

These pids

GM.IAC_LTD_DMA
GM.IAC_STD_DMA
GM.CYLAIR_DMA
GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA

have red x's thru them in pid list, but do have values recorded in log. See the screenshot in post #8.

Help - Need some pointers on leaning out idle AFR
Your log shows idle at 40kPa, and the AFR seems to closely track these cells in B3605 (see attached)... is this the area where you want to lean out the idle...?

I think so. Did the AutoVE and now tried RAFIG to get the idle area leaned out. Leaving it SD for now.

How are you able to hi-light the rows and columns at the same time?

Any particular reason to use F instead of C on the temp scale?

In the tunetool go Edit->Properties->Scanner and checkmark both boxes under PID data links.

Then make sure the pid units on the scantool Data tab are the same as the pid units on the axes of the tunetool tables (especially MAP).

I use metric for everything except: speed, temperature, power, torque, and hydraulic pressure... I'm used to the numbers in those units.
