View Full Version : DTC's from non-GM vehicles

Should the current firmware for the V2 support pulling DTC's from CAN-based non-GM vehicles? If so, would it be just powertrain codes, or would it be powertrain, body, chassis and comms like the GMs?

I tried pulling codes from a 2004 Taurus, and the thing is it got some data, but was unable to get codes from the ABS module. It also was able to pull data using the "Record All Diags" (see below). Another thought, the "Record All Diags" requires you to slect a PID list... Any chance of having it run like it used to where it just pulled all data so it'll work with non GM CAN-based vehicles?

Yes, we're working on making it work for all (most) CAN based vehicles.

cool!! That would be awesome! Any chance that it could be made to work for all pre-CAN OBD2 vehicles? Even if its only the P0XXX universal emissions codes?

No, unless those vehicles use either the VPW (GM, pre-CAN) or ALDL (GM OBDI) protocol's. For example FlashScan does not support PWM (Ford, pre-CAN) or SCI (Chrysler, pre-CAN) protocols.

For FS V3 maybe? Or am I jumping the gun a little bit? Haha, Ill be a happy clam if I can get this dumb P10 to AutoVE and BBF. The E67 will be easy, its the other stuff thats not :(
