Well you gotta know the big picture to appreciate the total tailspin GM is in. Rick Wagoner thought/said that hybrid and electric vehicles were just a passing fad; likewise, Whitacre is the man at AT&T who said in 1995 that cel phones were a passing fad and that ATT would *not* get involved in the cel phone market, and not much later ATT went totally bust. Geniuses, both of them. :( Just like ATT the GM that we have known is no more - the name will still exist for years to come but it will be a totally different company that nobody will recognize.
