View Full Version : Auto Meter wbo2 cal

Sorry guys I dont have the luxury of time to search for this. My truck is going to debut Christmas eve. after a complete frame off rebuild, so I am out of time. I am ready to do some logging Monday so I need to connect my Auto Meter WBO2 to my data logger. I understand that I must calibrate the logger to work properly with my wideband. Do I need to find a link to info on how to do this with an Auto Meter? Sorry again, I just have so many other things to finish fabbing up on the truck that I am forced to waste your time with something that has most likely already been covered here. Wot is around 10:1 on my magnacharged 5.3 Ls6 cam 4l80e Toyota mud truck and I am looking to see more like 11.5:1. I am also hoping I can safely squeeze in some more timing.

Is this the wideband you have: http://www.autometer.com/download_instruction/1143A.pdf

If so, see the section BGD Range Setting Mode... here it says this:

Adjusting your BGD limits also adjusts the scaling of the 0-4v data logger output supplied from the gauge. The selected low set point of the BGD Range becomes the 0v value of the data logger output. The selected high set point of the BGD Range becomes the 4v value of the data logger output. Whenever you change these points, the instrument adjusts the data logger output so that the 0-4v signal is always linear between your chosen set points.So do this:
- find out your Bar Graph Display lower/upper limits, post them here;
- find the file My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\User Configuration\calc_pids.txt and post it here.

I'll edit the calc_pids.txt file to convert the your 0-4V signal into AFR.


The Autometer wideband doesn't appear to have serial output, does anyone know if it does...?


Do you have FlashScan V1 or V2...?

The general rule is (Volts*Slope)+Intercept
You can get the Slope & Intercept by:
(Maximum AFR-Minimum AFR)/Max Voltage+Minimum AFR

Using the LC-1 default output as an example:
(22.39-7.35)/4=3.76
The calc_pid expression would be
EXT.AD*3.76+7.35

or :unsure:
Max Voltage/(Maximum AFR-Minimum AFR)+Minimum AFR
4/(22.39-7.35)+7.35
But why would anyone do it this way? :laugh:

I will try to figure out what you are needing and post them on Monday. I don't exactly understand this or what you are needing but I have printed out your post and the links you provided so I should be able to figure it out this weekend and be on track next week. Do you have any idea if I should change/customize my BGD or leave it at the default setting? As always thank you for your help! I kinda figured it would be you to chime in.

If 0V=AFR10 and 4V=AFR20, then copy the attached calc_pids.txt to the folder My Documents\EFIlive\V7.5\User Configuration...

If they are different then tell us what they are.

mr.prick (his real name) showed how to derive the AFR equation using those 2 voltage points.
