Have you installed software V8.1.2.80 from here (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=12587)...?

You should be able to upgrade as follows:

A If FlashScan has boot block V2.04.xx or earlier, please perform these steps:
1. Program firmware V2.04.72.
2. Use FlashScan’s menu option to upgrade the boot block to V2.05.08.
3. Program firmware V2.05.20
4. Go to step D.

D If FlashScan has boot block V2.05.08 please perform these steps:
1. Program boot block V2.06.02.
2. Program the highest version number firmware file from the folder: \Program Files\EFILive\V8\Firmware.

You need to pre-read the document and follow it's steps, going to the appropriate paragraphs.

Be sure to use the files called FSBootV2_06_02.efw and FSProgV2_06_19.efw.

Can you full flash with the "Use High Speed" box unchecked? I know it makes my 30sec flashes more like 2:10...

The only full flashes Ive done are 2, one on my E67 and another on my T42 for my TBSS. Think it was about 7-8 mins for the E67 and 5-6 for the T42.

OP,

More info...?

Can you paste the text from the Console F6 tab here...?

Explain what happened...?

Did something happen to make the flash fail, or did the PCM fail...?

Why were you full flashing a 1998 PCM...?

When you updated V2 bootblock/firmware, were these successful, and which versions did you update to...?

When you tried flashing, what bb/fw versions did V2 have...?

On the 1998 PCM, a cal only flash should take about 30 seconds, and a full flash about 2 minutes, or so.

Do you get any DTC's now...?

When you turn key on, do you get fuel pump 2 second prime...?

Are you sure VATS hasn't been messed with (I am not too familiar with the 1998 PCM)...?
