As we know you can upgrade your v1 to v2 for $399USD if brought before September 17, 2006 and $549 after September 17, 2006.

Can I suggest EFILive move the cheaper upgrade to the September 17, 2007 for their loyal V1 users. :angel_innocent:

Hope the board of directors :gossip: come up with a favorable answer.

The reason for the difference in price for the upgrade is prier to September 17, 2006 customers who bought V1's paid $850 for them (like I did), after that date the price droped to $550. So to keep it fair for the guys who originally paid $850 for a V1 they gave them a break on the upgrade price.

Your best bet might be to just sell your V1 and buy a V2 out right, or to leave at least 1 unused license on the V1 cable after you upgrade it and then sell it to some who understands no more licenses can be added to it other then the one that you left on it after you upgraded. You only have to get $150 for it to break even, but I would think you could get a little more then that for it. I have done that for several guys, ;)

I went from v1 scan ($250usd ?)to v1 commercial ($286USD) so to upgrade to V2 it will cost me another $549USD, that will equal $1085USD. I don't get to claim it on tax either as I'm a home tuner and not a business.

I might go another way and purchase HPtuners later on for $649 with 8 credits, the ability to tune Australian Fords and E38's. It's an extra $100USD but will be worth it. Good thing is VCM / HPTuners is about 1/2 mile from where I live.

Thanks for your reply. You did make me think about an alternative.

Money going elsewhere well done :thumb_yello:

I as well as everyone else who bought a V1 prier to Sept 17 2006 paid $1250 for a V2 in total, and your looking at $1086. You seem to think we got a better deal, but we didn't, we paid MORE.

You get to keep your V1 and it is still fully functional with the licenses that are attached to it as well as it will copy those licenses over to the V2. Seems like your still getting a better deal then me, ;). Plus your upgrade comes with an additional 2 licenses for free.

You talk about being a "loyal V1 user" but your willing to jump ship over $150 and then spend a $100 on top of that?? For a product that will charge you an extra $100 (2 credits) on top of an already licensed PCM every time you want to use a custom OS (custom OS's are free with EFILive) and also make you lisence a tune BEFORE you can save any changes to it?? (so much for your buddy sending you a tune, you fixing it and sending it back to him with out you spending a 100 bucks on it to license it). You also won't be able to do Black box reading or flashing, or monitor and log PIDs in real time with out a laptop using the V2's LCD screen??

I do have both products and you can see which I CHOOSE to use the most for the reason in which I listed. somethings to think about. ;)

Maybe you should "rethink" your alternative. ;)

Why not sell your V1 to cut the cost of the V2 and keep it "alive" for future use.
I paid $825 shipped for my V2 w/LC1 in Nov 2006. :)

Since this is the topic. I want to upgrade to v2 from my v1 commercial. I presume I must do this through EFIlive directly not a vendor in the US. I see shipping to my zip is $50.49USD via fedex. How long will this take to get to me? Sparks Nv 89431, I should be putting my order in tonight.

Thanks
Kris

It will drop ship UPS out of SoCal, so I'd guess 1-3 days?? Price depend on when you bought it. I will need the SN off of it to have sold date confirmed.

hahaha , no problems I went off thought about kbracing comment about "rethink your alternative". So my alternative was to go buy AP Racing 4 piston calipers /350mm front discs and 332mm rear discs, set of 2nd hand 18" wheels / tyres, 3" cat back, two near new front leather seats with electrics, a low miles 2nd hand lsd diff for some 3.7's I have in the garage and a new laptop battery.

Unfortunately nothing to EFILive, I'll ask the same question next year. :music_whistling_1:
