Finally got the time to put my buddys 408 in his Trans Am.
Here are the specs:
408ci
11.5-11.6:1 CR
Comp 232/238 595/605 115LSA
L92 heads w/manley valves
Stock L76/LS3 intake with stock LS3 fuel rail
Fast 57# injectors
90mm Comtech TB
Paceseter 1 3/4 headers and 3" y pipe
SLP lid and k&n
160* Tstat
TR6
Yank SS3600
4L60E stock rebuild :doh2:
Fuel pressure is 58# at idle, i checked that before i scaled the injectors. I used the spreadsheet i found on here to scale them. So if somebody could double check that its correct that would be nice. :D
I got the car to idle somewhat.
And his LC1 doesnt give my V2 any voltage so i had to do it old school way of watching the gauge and break out the calculator to adjust the VE table.
We are goin COS5 Speed Density, Here is the tune.
I wanted to get the AFR dialed in at idle so i could do the RAFPN, the Desired airflow is a blind guess at the moment.
AFR was in the mid 15s warming up, once it reached 180* it settled down to around 14.5.
Also the 90MM TB doesnt have a hole in the blade like the stock one, ive never fooled with this kinda stuff so im still tryin to figure out if there needs to be one or not?
If its idling and you give it 5% throttle it revs to 3k in a split second :hihi:
Now if only i had some help to get this thing right.. We dont mind paying anyone either.

Are the 57# injectors 57 lb/hr at 43.5 psi or at 58 psi...?
Can you do LC-1 serial comms AFR...?
Can you do a quick AutoVE to get the VE table close...?

One of my problems... they are FAST Injectors, i couldnt find any info as to if they are 43.5 or 58psi rated..
Next is to try the Seral Comms, i couldnt get it to work when i had a LC1 in my silverado so ill try.
IF i can get the wideband to connect to the V2 i could do the auto VE..
Thanks joecar!

Got to read the fine print on their website...
"*fuel delivery ratings based on 58psi fuel pressure."

Have you tried re-programming the LC-1 outputs or serial connection?
It's going to be difficult without WBO2 data in the log.
IMO get the LC-1 & V2 connected somehow.
AFR can have a large effect on RAFIG.
Something you can do for that lean cold start is make a calc_pid
based off a set AFR and multiply it with {B3605} or use LTFTs.

Goin to try to connect the laptop to the LC1 when my buddy gets back this weekend. I dont have a serial port on my dell Mini.
One reason we are goin OLSD is his oxygen sensors are shot and we didnt want to try to feed the 408 thru a little stock maf.

OLSD is definitely going to need WBO2 connected.
I meant serial connection to the V2, the pinout is in my sig.

Im confused at the moment, what do i do with the pinout your talkin about?

It's to connect the LC-1 directly to the V2 serial port instead of the analog inputs.
If the analog outs on the LC-1 don't work or you can't reprogram them connect it to the V2 via serial connection instead of watching the gauge.
You can make your own cable with the pinout or use the V2's serial cable

and a null modem

with the LC-1's serial cable.

Gah, i was thinking totally backwards... i understand now.
I have everything but the V2 serial cable, or at least ill have to find it.
I also have 2 or 3 LC1's that have died, wonder if serial will work on them? hum...
Anyway, on your post i was confused about, they way it shows to wire the ends. Is that do do away with the Null Modem? and make it into one cable instead of 2 cables and null modem?
If thats the case, i have several RJ11 ends i can just cut the end off the LC1 and wire it to the RJ11? Correct?

Oh and thanks for the pictures in that last post, cant get confused that way :D

That's what the pinout is for. ;)
It's specifically for the LC-1 but you could take the RJ11 end and adapt it to another WBO2 for serial connection.
I have heard of the LC-1's analog outs dieing but if it still works through Logworks it will work with the V2. :)

Its sounding easier and easier... this is a brand new LC1 also, i dont see how the analog could be dead. but then again i have a few dead LC1s. :bad:

It may just need to be programmed.
Doesn't the LC-1 gauge work off of one of the analog outs?
There was a FW that that killed the AD's on the V2 but
that was a while back and has been fixed.
Serial connection FTW.

ha, ill try a the LC1s on my S10 then.
I have a PLX on my silverado and it reads all crazy, jumping around.

Regarding LC-1 serial comms (and null modem):
You can wire it yourself, in the following links there diagrams/pics showing how to (also see TAQuickness's sig):

The PLX can be hacked for serial too.
