First off I guess I should introduce myself:
My name is Cal and I'm a college student at Texas A&M University. Due to various reasons, I sold my beloved Cummins this past year and purchased myself a 2009 Silverado base model with the 4.3L V6. The truck is nice enough for me and requires little work/maintenance costs, but it does lack in certain areas. Now I know these little straight six compression ignition motors pretty well, and could build a 1,000 horse streetable truck if I had the means, but the budget currently does not allow for that, so I guess I'll be content with what I have.

My question, therefore, lies on the basis of tuning my Silverado with EFI live. I have a friend who owns the tuning program and uses it on his LMM Duramax, and has offered to tune my truck as long as I pay the licensing fee. Consequently, I would like to know if there are any tunes available for this motor, or if anyone has tuned them and would be willing to share any advice.

My knowledge of EFI live is very limited; all I know is that you can do it with a laptop, and it works on GM's. So please, go easy on me and help me to learn!

Thanks for you help,
Cal

Hello and welcome,

You might need to check and confirm with EFI-Live admin if your vehicle is supported.

Here's the present list:

There are one or two files for older models here-

Yo can actually download free software which allows you to read and get an idea of what a calibration looks like...
Just to the right of the Camaro here:- http://www.efilive.com/

Try asking your friend if he can read your ECM and keep an untouched copy of your original file before you do anything!

If you can email your full VIN to support@efilive.com I can check the ECM type used in your vehicle, and if EFILive support (or not) the controller.
