Just downloaded my stock tune and I sent it to Nick. Now Im looking to conduct a CP3 test. I think I read somewhere you/I need to just log it while driving. Or that it can be commanded or something like that.
I haven't even figured out how to run or check DTC's
YES I did a search for CP3 test and didnt find any threads that seemed to cover it here in the LB7 area. If you know somewhere else I should be looking that would be much appreciated.
ANY help would be appreciated, as I need to conduct an Injector balance rates test ASAP also.

For the balance rate test, first I hook up to the truck, then plug into the computer. Next I fire the truck up. Then I open up your Scan Tool "Mine is on my desktop". Then you want to go to the PIDS "F8", and scroll down and find the Balancing Fuel Flow Rate and double click on all 8. Now you need to select the DATA page at the top "F9". the right below where it says file at the top, you will see a green dot. Click that and it will give you a pop up to select your ECM "select LB7". Now look at the lights at the bottom of the page, and you will see a yellow and a Red. click the red button. Let the truck run for a minutes, and right down all the averages. Next you are going to want to hit the Square at the bottom of the page and save that Log. You are then going to want to repeat the whole process again, but this time with the truck in drive.

I found the CP3 test here. (http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=310270&highlight=CP3+test) Yea.
Looks like I will have plenty to do to keep me busy tonight.
I will post back with results, or questions. Probably most likely questions.

+/-6 in GearAWESOME instructions. This is the first ANYTHING I have done other than downloading my factory tune with EFI Live.
I did get a some kind of failure message here it is (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/CP3_test_01.jpg) but it seemed to work fine.
I logged a few minutes in idle and in drive here are my numbers, I wrote them down near the end of the log not at the end so they might be a few off, I haven't learned how to go in and view a log yet. This is all very new to me.
Cylinder ____Idle average _____Drive average
1 __________0.06____________-0.49
2 __________1.16____________ 1.28
3 __________2.21____________ 2.45
4 __________0.42____________ 0.62
5 _________-0.33____________-1.01
6 _________-3.15____________-2.12
7 __________0.25____________ 0.29
8 _________-.090____________-1.03
^^^Are these numbers conclusive enough to rule out bad injectors?^^^
here are the log files for each if you want to view them
Idle log (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/LB7%20idle%20inj%20average%20Log_0000.efi)
Drive log (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/LB7%20drive%20inj%20average%20Log_0000.efi)
I have no idea what happened to the CP3 test, I managed to kill the engine a few times. It seemed when I was in the DVT and activated the LB7 it would go to OK then if I hit the check box for the "Rail Pressure Control Valve Relay" it would kill the engine. I would have to deactivate then select the LB7 from the drop down again and "Deactivate and Activate" and would appear to connect. Again you can view the log here. Its 17 minutes long so FF to the last 2 minutes or so to witness it shut the truck off. Heres the CP3 log (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/LB7%20CP3%20pressure%20Log_0000.efi)
Also I made a little screen capture video to show you guys but the audio didnt come out. Basically I go through all of the steps in the above paragraph. Heres the video (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/FPR%20EFI%20Live.avi). Right at the very end of the video when I hit the check box it kills the motor.
Any ideas on what I should be doing?

+/-6 in GearOH crap I just noticed the part about "warm engine" it wasnt cold, its been 77 degrees here today, but the motor definitely was NOT up to 190deg. DAMN, I will have to redo all that balance rate stuff. :doh2:

I was also able to successfully command the CP3 pressure and the idle changed too, but I couldn't tell what I was looking for or if my pump did or did not do what it was supposed to.
Did my CP3 pass or fail?
Here is a link to the log (http://www.arizonaperformance.com/diesel_stuff/EFIlive/LB7 CP3 pressure Log_0001.efi), where I commanded 160kpa
