Noob question

I am interested in the EFILive Tuning Tool. I was going to purchase the cable, to go with it. What else do I need to buy. All I would be using this for is speedometer calibration since I have no other tuning experience. All help is appreciated.

Hello,

This system is actually a little overkill for tuning speedo. Pricey too, $750-800 for the latest v2. It comes with 2 licenses and any PCM you modify costs 1(you never get it back), they are $99 each.

I would suggest a frequency modifying box of some kind. I know Dakota Digital sells them, there are many others. Those are made just for speedo re-cal.

So I can't just buy the ODB2 cable, and use the EFILIVE program I downloaded off of this website?

No, the two modules EFILive sells(v1,v2) are very specific to this system. I have other OBDII systems and they don't work with EFILive. There are a few other systems that will cross, but NONE of those will work with EFILive.

Not trying to tune anything. Just want to adjust the speedometer in a 98 Camaro.
