I'm not sure what I did but I have a problem! I updated boot block to 2.05.04 and tried to update firmware to 2.05.14 but it came up with $0091 and said device did not re-boot after firmware update. And now it says connected device is not responding. I'm not sure what boot block and firmware I had before. I can't do anything with it now in tune tool or EFIlive explorer. I can read firmware and bootblock if I put it into dead poll mode. Any ideas? thanks

Thats really old stuff, try and download the latest software from HERE (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?p=115073). Install 7.5.6 and 8.1.2, then open EFILive Scan & Tune. A window should pop up in your taskbar (by the clock) saying you need to upgrade your firmware. Click that, then update the bootblock FIRST, then click upgrade firmware.

I made sure to download the latest, 7.5.6.104 and 8.1.2.84 and these were the ones I already had. I opened scan and tune and nothing came up. I went into EFILIVE explorer and EFILIVE HAPI came up at the bottom but said connected device not responding. I can't hit the refresh button either.

You need to bring your V2 upto bootblock 2.6.2 and firmware 2.6.24.

Carefully read the attached document if you haven't already.

Does you device repeatedly say something about updating the licenses?

I'll dig up your email address and send you some instructions Ira put together that might help you. If that fails it will need to be sent to Fish Tuning if you're in the US (or EFILive if elsewhere) to resolve the issue.

Email sent. Let us know obviously if it works for you or not...

You should be able to flash in firmware 2.05.14 and go from there...

If the two amber LEDs are flashing (dead poll mode), this means you just flashed in the bootblock, and now you need to flash in the firmware.

See what it says about dead poll in the attached doc.

Which bootblock version do you have flashed...?

Which V7.5 and V8.1 software build versions do you have installed...?

All the files should be on your hard disk.

That's what I thought but the explorer says that the firmware is ok. I tried to reflash the firmware and it won't let me!

Which versions of bootblock and firmware does it say...?

Post some screenshots of EE when you try to flash in the firmware.

I followed your instructions that you posted in an earlier posting. So it should have been 2.6.2 and 2.6.24

2.06.08 is not a valid bootblock. It will be 2.05.08 which is :) I expect what has happened is the bootblock and firmware you've managed to get in there are mismatched. I've just email you a recovery process which has worked for others.

Well that's the problem when intry and flash the firmware from the 7.5 it tells me it can't do that and when I try and go through exploerer it says firmware is ok and doesn't give me the option to reflash the firmware.
