I thought I had a good handle on my EFILive scanner, but it seems I can't even figure out how to do the simplest things. I believe I am having a misfire on one of the cylinders. I cleared all the PID's and selected cylinders 1-8 for current misfires. I connected to the pcm and started the vehicle. It does not register any values. What am I missing? If I select other PIDS such as engine rpm, etc those values do work but nothing works for cylinder misfires. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi 2000TA, welcome to the forum...

Do you mean the current misfire pids show zero, or that they do not show up...?

Did you goto the Data tab where you can observe those pids...?

Did you first do Info->Validate PIDs after connecting to PCM...?

Can you post a screenshot...

I take it you pressed the red record button at the bottom of the window...

I did the following:

File---new----new pid selection

I selected cylinder # 1 thru 8 misfires, current

File--connect

Started vehicle

Hit red record button.

All values stay at zero and do not fluctuate.

Am I missing something here? Thank you very much for the help!

Can I just email you the short log I did? I can't seem to post the screen shot for some reason.

Are you running MAF-less or do you have any MAF DTC codes present...?

See if GM.MFTOTAL shows any values.

I take it that you notice that a miss has occurred...

Does your MIL blink when this happens...?

Try doing a crank sensor relearn.

Also, which version of the EFILive software are you using...?

This is the lastest: showthread.php?t=13075 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?t=13075)

Do you have FlashScan V1 or V2...?
If you have V1 then you need only V7 software.
If you have V2 then you also need both V7 and V8 software.

What mods do you have on your car...?

I assume your car is a 2000 TA... :)
