Hi folks. I have a friend who has a Mazda with LS2 and 4L65E out of a 2006 Pontiac GTO. He is a paraplegic and uses it for track days, hence the auto.

He has asked for some help in getting the box tuned as he has issues with downshifts and. Some one tried to help before when the box just did not want to shift. Whatever was done it now shifts but very harshly.

I understand the box is stock with no mods but does have a trans cooler. The car uses the GTO's ECU's and harness.

I have found out that when the build was done, there were no speed reluctors or sensors fitted to the back axle.

I'm going up there to try and pull the tune but, where do I start with this one?

My friend has also expressed a desire to have a rocker switch on the steering wheel for manual changes up and down. is this possible with the combination he has?

Hello,
I take it that the vehicle is using a E40 / TM42 ecu/tcu combo? I suppose one could rig up the TM42 for manual control. Might be more cost effective to migrate to an aftermarket trans controller. We have a TT H/C 01 ZO6 in the shop right now that has been fitted with this system. Seems to work ok.

Thanks for your reply Doc.

The year of the donor car would suggest E40/T42. I will check when I get up there. What you have in your shop sounds like what he wants. Where can I get some detailed info' on this?

Does that Z06 have paddles to change gears, or what exactly?

Thanks - Gareth

Sorry about that...here ya go.

Our customer's car does not have paddles as of yet. He has a simple master arm and toggle switch on the center console for now. He'll probably do something more fancy when he gets the rest of the car done. We have been dialing in the tune for the TT setup.
