In Excel, if I have a single cell containing the value 350, say, and I want to plot this value as a horizontal line on a chart (irrespective of the x-axis values), how do I do this without creating a column or row of 350's...?

i.e. I want to plot y=350 on a x-y chart.

Thanks (aaarrrggghhh....),
Joe

Good question, but I've never found a way to do it.

You can do it using "trendlines" but you need two data points, not one.
See images for "how to". (Images are in reverse order - sorry).

After seleting "Add trendline" from the menu, just click [Ok], no other settings need to be modified.
The relative values of the two data points in "Y" determine the slope of the trendline.

Paul,

Hmmm... trendlines, from 2 y points... I'll give that a try.

Thanks,
