I believe that I know the answer but wanted to confirm with those who know or have already done this.

Have a 1999' K2500 truck and want to swap it to a 0411 PCM and newer OS that is compatible with the COS's in EFI Live. From what I have read, I need to find a 0411 PCM, re-pin it and then license that PCM and do a full flash of an '01-02 OS. The key being license the new PCM and not the one that is currently in the truck.

Just checking to see if that is all I need to upgrade.

Thanks,

First is this an old body style truck with the black finned PCM? If not and you have the silver ECM, it is already compatible with the newer operating systems.

You just need to do a Full Flash of a 01' or 02' OS into your 99' PCM, "ONLY" if it's a Silver PCM like Chips by AL pointed out.

I'll have to go take a look. From what you guys are saying though, that means that it already has a 0411 PCM in it? I thought that those were only in the '01-02 vehicles?

Also, I don't have the wiring diagrams handy for this swap yet, but does this mean (if I have the silver finned PCM) that I don't have to re-pin it?

If it matters, I have read the PCM and it has the following in it:
OS - 09373372
OS ID - BD
Calibration - 9374401
BCC - CWAF

What motor does it have? If it's a New Body style "Silverado" with a silver PCM with two long conectors, you can just flash a newer OS into it. If the PCM is black, with three or four connectors, then you'll need to swap the newer PCM in. I just upgraded the OS in my friend's 99 Silverado w/ 6.0L LQ4 and it was no problem. Just had to disable the altenator F terminal and associated codes.

Thanks,

This is the same OS as the '99 Camaro (http://holdencrazy.com/EFILive/TuneFileRepository/Stock/Chevrolet/1999%20Chevrolet%20Camaro%20Coupe%20Automatic%20LS 1%205.7%20Litre%20(09373372).tun).
Looks like you are good to go. :)

Yes, it's already has the 6L in it and is a 99 1/2' body style (newer Silverado). Sounds like I am good to go :)

Thanks for all the help!!!

Yep, sounds like you are. You should be able to flash the "2002 Silverado" tune in my post here (http://forum.efilive.com/showpost.php?p=117933&postcount=24) and only need to change the VIN & speedometer calibration to match yours (that one's calibrated for 285's).
