A friend with an LS2 had it tuned by reputable shop. I beleive tuner used LS2 Edit. I tried to download tune twice after car had been to tuner. Both times EFILive tells me the tune is locked. Funny thing is I did modify a tune from this same tuner on an E38 07 Z06 and had no trouble downloading, modifying and uploading changes.

If a tuner had locked a tune in the past, could they supply the key and could it be used in EFILive to unlock the tune?

Is there anything unusal about LS2 TUNED ecms that creates issues with downloading tun file?

Apparently LS2edit does lock ECM and TCM tunes by default though this can be changed to not lock: tuner can simply change this option. No idea if they tell you the key they use.

This seems to be a legitimate LS2Edit issue. Every ECM I've come across that has been tuned with Edit has been locked-- by the software, not by the user. I don't use that junk, so I'm not sure if or how the problem can be eliminated.

Appreciate the replies. I know LS2Edit originally defaulted to loicked and caught some tuners by surprise or so they claimed. :)

At this point, car is going back to original tuner for final tuning.

As does HPTuners from what I have seen. Locked ECM's where the tuner swears black and blue they never choose to lock anything.

Come to find out, ECM in 06 C6 Corvette is E38. I was trying to download using E40 processor.

Problem solved.
