Hello, I have been diging for a while to find out how to do a segment swap on a transmission or the engine calibration and have not found a "step by step" post to do this yet.

Here is my dilema...
I have a 454 and 4l80e I am running with the 0411 ecm. the current OS I am using is 01270003 and the trans calibration is 9358280> this 80e tans calibration will not work in 4wd low as the shift tables are no being changed properly for 4low shifting.

(from what I gather)I think I can use a 5.7L express van tune with OS 12212156 and a 6.0L 4x4 truck/4L80e tune OS(12212156) and swap the trans segments and then take that file and copy all the tables from my 454 tune to make this new tune/file run properly......
BUT
I need help on how exactly to swap the segments
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Robby

Hi Robby,

To copy a transmission copy:
1. open the target .tun file,
2. open the donor file as the alternate file (must have same OS id),
3. go Edit->Copy Entire Segment->Transmission,
4. answer Yes to prompt,
5. answer Ok to acknowledge that it has been done,
6. save the target file.

Do not flash the file until you have saved it.

I "think" he's asking how to swap from different OS's. OS 12212156 to custom OS 01270003.

I've wondered the same thing.

Thanks guys,
Yes Lee I was hoping to be able to swap the trans segment from the OS 12212156 to custom OS 01270003, but from what I have read it needs the same number OS correct?
I just figured I would start over from the ground up with a new tune and copy tables, ect from my custom os tune and hopefully have my 4low working correctly.

I may try to see if the segment will copy to the custom OS just for the hell of it. If it works it will save me a ton of work

Thanks again,
Robby

Yes, same OS id number... you can do a segment swap between a COS and the GM OS that the COS is based on... see chart (from COS Upgrade Tutorial).

Can you run 12212156/02020003...? You might have to copy your tables over.

If you could do that, then start with clean files, do the seg swap, convert to COS, then repopulate the tables with your current tune. Will be a little work, but the results should be well worth it.
