Hi all,
Today I tuned a camaro 2010 with an edelbrock E-Force blower on it at the shop... We only put an intake and some short tube headers on it so I just adjusted the MAF transfer function(from the original tune file) so it would match the commanded afr and some minor timing adjustment...

But my question is that I never really work with the new vve and I would like to know where to begin for adjusting it, and since this blower came with a 2.5 bar map on it I don't do I adjust the 2bar or 3bar vve to make it work? Because the client asked us to order an exhaust an a smaller blower pulley so I think I will have to adjust it.

Would I get away without?

I need your advice please

I don't know the answer, but I imagine you would adjust the 3-bar vve... hopefully someone has a better answer.

3Bar VVE for sure, if you go over 2Bar then you need to use the 3Bar VVE table. Beauty is regardless of 1Bar, 2Bar, or 3Bar you dont lose any resolution in the table. Switching from a 1Bar to 2Bar GM (actually EFILive) simply extended the table from 100 kPa to 200 kPa. 2 to 3 is from 200 to 255 kPa, so really the 3Bar table is a 2.5Bar setup.


Also, noticed a bug with setting the units. If Imperial is selected, 1Bar and 2Bar incorrectly show kPa while 3Bar shows PSI. Happens on all 4 VVE tables for my 08 TBSS, OS is 12618164.

Could I get away with out tuning it sine it will still keep the MAF?

Because It looks like edelbrock dident even modified it!

and Erik am I obligate to use all 4 table or I can just copy paste them?

I believe the Camaros dont have VVT at all, so you need to just mirror your 3Bar VVE table across all 4 3Bar VVE tables.

If the Camaro is an auto and has AFM/DOD, then you might need to adjust the AFM Mode VVE tables seperately.

I would actually tune it properly, yes it will take a little longer but it will be safer on the engine and should pick up more power. I take it you didnt do the install then, I looked at Edelbrock's website and they use a handheld to load the tune. See if you cant get the customer to bring it to your shop, read the Edelbrock modded tune and put the stock one back in, read it out and compare the two.

Actually we did the install and thats exacly what I did, I download back the ecm after I used the handheld device...

but I think I will give it a try when the customer come back for his pulley and exhaust upgrade.

What would you say is the limit in wheel hp for this motor?

now we hare at 520whp.

No idea honestly, 520rwhp is pretty good though.

So when you downloaded the ECM with the handheld tune and compared it, there were 0 changes?

No they were changed but not to the vve tables...

and Hennessey are pumping those engines up to 650hp on there website?

do you thing its wheel hp?

Was the MAF changed? Only way I can think that the fueling was set properly besides PE raping.

Doubtful on Hennessey, most likely flywheel. But I dont know for sure, 650rwhp is possible if you stick enough boost into it. Engine longevity is another issue at these power levels though.
