I'm new to gas tuning, I thought I would go into my Lacrosse and try to improve mpg a little, shut off egr, shut off cat test maybe, I first tried connecting with the scan tool to check for any codes but got an error saying unable to connect. I have all the latest updates in my V2, do I need to license the ecm first, or is this vehicle not supported? Thanks

Just to clarify the current (at time of this post) software and firmware updates:
- V7.5.6 Build 117
- V8.1.2 Build 97
- V2 firmware 2.06.35
Are those the versions you have? All these versions need to be aligned as the software and firmware have requirements of each other.
Can you also please send the full VIN for your vehicle to me (
[email protected]) and I can check vehicle support and determine controller type etc?

More than likely it uses the E67 and is supported according to the main website. Try selecting E67 when scanning or better yet try and read the ECM using the Tune tool.

Yes, I am selecting E67. I can read the ecm with the scan tool, but when I try to retrieve dct's I get an error and it disconnects itself from the vehicle and I can't reconnect unless I close the scan tool and start over. Andrew is looking into it.
