ok guys i'll be the first to admit i'm not an expert at tuning gas engines, but i don't do anything too fancy, just advance timing conservatively, lower PE enable threshold, and firm up shifts. Have had good results so far. Now i tuned a 2006 silverado with 5.3L and after tuning sounds good at initial startup but within seconds looses power, throttle response and won't run over 2000RPM. Also getting EVAP code. tried lots of things with no results, but tuning back to stock and runs like normal.

Any ideas?

Attach your tune i can take a look at it. Do you have a wbo2?

no i don't have a wide band.

If you get an EVAP code then troubleshoot this first (or do you get this after tuning...?).

So you have any logs...?

Please post the stock .tun file also.

I would start with all your out of range calibrations. Did you edit the spark table? And stock tune would be nice to compare the two and see what all you changed try this see if it helps.

Hmmm... my tunetool didn't flag any OoR cells... 1meangto which build version are you using...?

Yeah, spark table is wrong, that may be one reason why it's not making torque...

and:
- B3605/B3648 have stoich cells almost everywhere (not sufficiently rich at part throttle load),
- and PE is set to enable at 55% throttle; at higher RPM's want PE to enable easier.

Also set the throttle kickdown tables to 100% all across, and adjust shifting schedule from the part throttle up/down shifts.

v7.5 I have auto updates not sure if it's the newest though i guess. I didn't get too far into the tune just looked at some of the tables. Looked like some kind of mess. It would be nice to compare to a stock file to see all thats been changed. Is there a nwer update i'm missing??

yeah i checked for out of range errors and didn't get any. using build 117. also all i did was advance the whole high octane timing table 5% then filled in all cells less than 13.5* to be 13.5*. copied this to low octane table and subtracted 2*. these are the only timing changes i made

- V7 (scantool, tunetool) Build 119.
- V8 (EE, S&T, bb/fw): Build 99.

In any of those programs do Help->About to see the build version number.

The commanded AFR needs to be richer:
- B3605: the high load cells should be richer than stoich (e.g. gasoline -> AFR should be 12.8 at WOT).
- B3648: the high load cells should be richer than stoich (e.g. ethanol -> not sure on AFR at WOT, depends on ethanol content).
- B3616: PE enable at 90% won't allow PE to kick in at part throttle load; need something like 60% below 4000 rpm and 40% above 4000 rpm... e.g. if you push throttle down part way you still need PE to kick in for acceleration.
- B3808: set this to zero.

Edit: corrected typo.

Timing can be as high as 1meangto made it... but check for KR whenever increasing timing.

I appreciate everyones help! i have been truck pullin with the Dmax and haven't been able to get on here. Had a little issue with this customer. On pricing. Someone told him a price he got confused thought i was doin it for $100. i don't have a stream license. he complained about the price gave him his money back, and the person who told him the wrong price paid for the license. So this is no longer an issue but i do appreciate all the help.
