this is a 64 impala swapped with 04 GTO LS1 & 4L60E. @ WOT in 2nd gear, timing is retarded down to 0-4 degrees, knocking ALL the power out of it. All ABS & traction control stuff are gone, I believe it may have something to do with that. How do I make it stop retarding? It will not do it in first gear nor Drive, but consistently in 2nd gear. Timing goes from 23 @ WOT immediately down to 0-4 degrees at 3500-3600. I can't find anything that correlates exactly to that. Thanks in advance

Post your files.

Are you getting KR...?

here ya go... I can show you the dyno graph also, it will NOT do it in first gear nor 3rd, and it does it on the street as well as the dyno... I can post up the dynograph too, it pulls good to 3500 and then dives.
thanks

Are you using the tcs box deal that came with the 04 gto's I can't remember but I think it has a second weird computer the throttle cable came through. I had the same kind of issue with it my 04 when we gutted the car and got rid of it. Try flashing it to a 2002 camaro. Try this attached file you'll have to retune it or if you want and if I get the time I can copy your files to this OS. I'm not sure when I'll have the time though

can't flash a 512k tune in a 1mb pcm, can ya? I thought of this, just hadn't tried it yet... that is the failure status is gave me...

Or try this tune in it. Just try it and see if it still has the second gear issue. It has all stock spark and ve tables from a 04 gto. I has the theft system disabled.

Oh crap I changed my pcm I forgot about that sry not sure what to do then. Trying to come up with another idea for ya. All the 1mb stuff had Throttle by wire as far as I know hmmmmm let me think awhile.

Can you hear it knock...?

Do you not get it in higher gears (3rd, 4th present more load than 2nd)...?

Is there a possibility that it is a mechanical noise (internal or external)...?

I can't see why/what is pulling timing down that low... log the EST_XXX_DMA pids to see if those indicate why.
