Is it possible to pull a DSP5 tune out of a PCM ??

Not on a bosch truck (LBZ/LMM), But you can on the LLY/LB7

Doesn't the LB7 have a Bosch PCM on the right valve cover

No, LB7/LLYs are Delphi based ECMs. 06 LLYs are a Bosch LBZ ECM IIRC, oddball of the group.

What is that box just under the intake air tube ?

Thats an ECM if Im not mistaken, Ive only ever worked on a 04.5 LLY where the ECM was mounted to the frame on the drivers side, near the AC compressor. So thats either an 06 LLY, LBZ, or LMM (dont know where the LBZ/LMMs ECMs are located though).

Hmmm didnt know that, I was wiring a DSP5 switch up for a friend but Im pretty sure that the LLYs dont have that...

I would guess that FICM = Fuel Injection Control Module?

Makes sense the ECM's in the same place, I was a little confused when I thought GM moved it to the engine of all places?!

Correct Fuel Injection Control Module

would that be like an injector driver ??

Yes. The FICM is the injector driver. A separate driver is needed on LB7s and LLYs because of the high voltages needed to run the injectors. 96 and 48 volts respectively. The new injectors are lower voltage and can be run by the Bosch ECM directly.

The "FICM" is only on a LB7 or Early LLY right?
The 06' LLY doesn't use the FICM correct?

Thanks !

The 06 lly you are talking about really isn't an lly at all. Its really an lbz detuned to lly hp levels.

Correct, the 06' LLY doesn't have the FICM that's in that picture, it uses the LBZ type computer and injectors.....as BBaller said, it's basically a LBZ with detuned power in that year.
